Osteosarcoma (OS), the most prevalent primary bone malignancy in adolescents, is characterized by aggressive progression and early metastasis. However, the epigenetic drivers of its metastatic heterogeneity remain poorly understood. Herein, we integrated bulk DNA methylation profiling and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to elucidate the epigenetic mechanisms driving OS metastatic heterogeneity.

Background: Protein lactylation has been implicated in stress-responsive cellular mechanisms, yet its role in lung transplantation-associated ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) remains undefined.
Methods: Transcriptomic profiles from GSE145989 were analyzed through differential expression analysis (limma) and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). Integrating the identified genes with lactylation-related signatures uncovered key lactylation-related genes (LRGs) as potential targets.

Unlabelled: Bleeding and thromboembolic events (BTE) increase the mortality of COVID-19 acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The current analysis aimed to assess frequency and determinants of BTE according to their location and severity in a retrospective analysis of the German ECMO COVID-19 registry. Logistic regression was applied to identify factors influencing ICU survival as well as variables associated with risks of BTE.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common lung cancer type and one of the deadliest neoplasias worldwide. NSCLC is histologically classified into adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and other less frequent subtypes. Both subtypes and other solid tumors are increasingly regarded as abnormal organs, highlighting the critical role of the desmoplastic tumor stroma rich in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in driving tumor progression and therapeutic resistance.
