Purpose: Michigan Screening and Intervention for Glaucoma and Eye Health through Telemedicine Program (MI-SIGHT) was developed to facilitate access to glaucoma and eye disease screening and improve attendance at recommended follow-up in underserved communities. MI-SIGHT offered free eye disease screenings, low-cost glasses and for those who screened positive for glaucoma, personalized education, and language-concordant coaching grounded in motivational interviewing. The primary aims of this study were 1) To explore barriers to eye care among Latine participants with limited English proficiency (LEP) who screened positive for glaucoma, 2) to understand whether and how the MI-SIGHT program facilitated access to care and 3) to understand participant experience in MI-SIGHT to inform the development of future interventions.

Fluorescence imaging has become an indispensable tool in modern biology, enabling the visualisation of dynamic molecular processes with spatial and temporal precision. Traditional strategies rely heavily on the conjugation of large, extrinsic fluorophores, such as green fluorscent protein or organic dyes, through linkers to proteins or peptides of interest. While sometimes effective, these bulky labels can interfere with native protein structure, function, and interactions, limiting their utility in studying sensitive or compact biological systems.

Bacterial infections pose significant challenges in clinical diagnostics and microbiological research due to the need for rapid, sensitive, and specific detection methods. Herein, we report the development of Cy5-NO2, a novel nitro-containing fluorescent probe designed for real-time monitoring of bacterial nitroreductase (NTR) activity. Cy5-NO2 is synthesized through a streamlined, high-yield process without chromatography, yielding a stable compound confirmed by X-ray crystallography and spectroscopic methods.

Functional imaging using genetically encoded indicators, such as GCaMP, has become a foundational tool for in vivo experiments and allows for the analysis of cellular dynamics, sensory processing, and cellular communication. However, large scale or complex functional imaging experiments pose analytical challenges. Many programs have worked to create pipelines to address these challenges, however, most platforms require proprietary software, impose operational restrictions, offer limited outputs, or require significant knowledge of various programming languages, which collectively can limit utility.

The RAS family of small GTPases are molecular switches that convey downstream signals regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The signaling competent GTP-bound RAS transitions to its inactive GDP-bound form through γ-phosphate hydrolysis. Oncogenic RAS mutations hamper GTP hydrolysis and are present in up to 30% of all human cancers.
