A 65-year-old male patient presented with "blurred vision in the right eye for 1 week". At the first visit, the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of both eyes was 0.8, no obvious abnormalities were observed in fundus examination, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) revealed the loss of outer retinal layers adjacent to the macula in the right eye.

The mitochondrial Hsp90 isoform, Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Associated Protein 1 (TRAP1), is central to the pathogenesis of disease states that include cancer, ischemic retinopathy, and diabetic kidney disease among others. TRAP1 contributes to these diseases through the regulation of mitochondrial metabolism, apoptosis, oxidative stress, cell signaling and angiogenesis through interactions with client proteins. Numerous TRAP1-selective inhibitors have been developed to limit the toxicities associated with Hsp90 pan-inhibition, while leveraging the therapeutic benefits of TRAP1 inhibition.

Diabetes is increasingly recognized as a chronic inflammatory disease marked by systemic metabolic disturbances, with endothelial dysfunction playing a central role in its complications. Hyperglycemia, a hallmark of diabetes, drives endothelial damage by inducing excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, particularly hydrogen peroxide (HO). This oxidative stress impairs endothelial cells, which are vital for vascular health, leading to severe complications such as diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy, and coronary artery disease-major causes of morbidity and mortality in diabetic patients.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of primary care ophthalmologists regarding fundus examination during the perioperative period of cataract surgery in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Design: A cross-sectional study was conducted.
Setting: The study took place in hospitals in Shandong Province capable of performing cataract surgeries between June 2023 and January 2024.

Purpose Of Review: Autoimmune retinopathy (AIR) is a rare but vision-threatening disorder characterized by retinal damage through humoral or cellular immune mechanisms. The purpose of this review is to summarize our current understanding on imaging, antibody testing, and immunosuppressive therapies for AIR.
Recent Findings: AIR includes paraneoplastic forms - such as cancer-associated retinopathy (CAR) and melanoma-associated retinopathy (MAR) - as well as a nonparaneoplastic (np) variant (npAIR).
