Sarcopenia is a prevalent and debilitating condition among stroke survivors, characterized by the progressive loss of muscle mass and function. This multicenter, randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effects of a community-based high-speed power training (HSPT) program tailored for individuals with post-stroke sarcopenia. The intervention bridges the gap between hospital-based rehabilitation and long-term community reintegration by offering physician-supervised, progressive resistance training sessions conducted twice weekly for eight weeks. Participants are assessed on muscle strength, physical performance, balance, body composition, and gait before and after the intervention. The study utilizes validated tools such as handgrip dynamometry, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), short physical performance battery (SPPB), and timed up and go (TUG) to comprehensively evaluate outcomes. Through stratified randomization and a double-blind design, the trial seeks to minimize bias and maximize clinical relevance. The results from this protocol are expected to inform evidence-based guidelines for stroke rehabilitation and support scalable community-based exercise programs aimed at improving functional recovery and quality of life in this population.

Study Question: Does weight loss from a hypocaloric dietary intervention improve antral follicle dynamics in women with PCOS?
Summary Answer: During a 3-month hypocaloric dietary intervention, women with PCOS who experienced clinically meaningful weight loss showed more organized antral follicle development including fewer recruitment events, but no change in the overall frequency of selection, dominance, or ovulation.
What Is Known Already: There is a spectrum of disordered antral follicle development in women with PCOS including excessive follicle recruitment and turnover, decreased frequency of selection and dominance, and failure of ovulation. Lifestyle intervention aimed at weight loss is recommended to improve metabolic health in women with PCOS yet benefits on ovarian follicle development and ovulation are unclear.

Importance: Cannabis is the most commonly used illicit drug, with 10% to 30% of regular users developing cannabis use disorder (CUD), a condition linked to altered hippocampal integrity. Evidence suggests high-intensity interval training (HIIT) enhances hippocampal structure and function, with this form of physical exercise potentially mitigating CUD-related cognitive and mental health impairments.
Objective: To determine the impact of a 12-week HIIT intervention on hippocampal integrity (ie, structure, connectivity, biochemistry) compared with 12 weeks of strength and resistance (SR) training in CUD.

Bone stress injury is a common musculoskeletal condition presenting with insidious bony pain that is progressive and occurs with a number of intrinsic or extrinsic risk factors, particularly with a recent change in training. When elicited, the presence of bony tenderness remains the most important component of the physical exam, although reproduction at deeper sites is a challenge and requires a high index of suspicion and imaging for diagnosis. MRI should be utilized as the gold standard for diagnosis, grading, and return-to-sport timing prognosis when available, with plain radiographs used as first-line imaging.

Inspired by the rigid exoskeleton and elastic inner tissues of crustaceans, a bilayer gel integrating high-strength rigidity and soft cushioning with high interfacial adhesion (1060 ± 40 J m ) is developed via a stepwise solid-liquid phase crosslinking strategy. Herein, a prefrozen high-concentration polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution forms a solid-state structural framework, while a subsequently cast low-concentration PVA solution generates a flexible layer. Partial thawing of the frozen gel during casting triggers molecular chain interpenetration at the interface, synergistically enhanced by controlled molecular penetration, freeze-thaw cycles, and salt-induced crystallization.

Current treatments for narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) have little impact on psychiatric, cognitive and metabolic comorbidities. Here, we evaluated the feasibility, safety and efficacy of a prospective Exercise Training (ET) program on sleep-related symptoms and comorbidities in NT1. Sedentary adult with NT1 participated in a 6-week supervised ET program followed by a 18-week self-directed program.
