With the acceleration of globalization, the connections between emerging market economies are becoming increasingly intricate, making it crucial to understand the mechanisms of risk transmission. This study employs the transfer entropy model to analyze risk diffusion and network resilience across ten emerging market countries. The findings reveal that Brazil, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia are the primary risk exporters, while countries such as India, South Africa, and Indonesia predominantly act as risk receivers. The research highlights the profound impact of major events such as the 2008 global financial crisis and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic on risk diffusion, with risk diffusion peaking during the pandemic. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of network resilience, suggesting that certain levels of noise and shocks can enhance resilience and improve network stability. While the global economy gradually recovered following the 2008 financial crisis, the post-pandemic recovery has been slower, with external shocks and noise presenting long-term challenges to network resilience. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding network resilience and risk diffusion mechanisms, offering new insights for managing risk transmission in future global economic crises.

Introduction: Pilots have an increased incidence of cutaneous melanoma compared to the general population; occupational exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation is one of several potential risk factors. Cockpit windshields effectively block UVB (280-315 nm) but further analysis is needed for UVA (315-400 nm). The objective of this observational study was to assess transmission of UVA through cockpit windshields and to measure doses of UVA at pilots' skin under daytime flying conditions.

To evaluate whether age modifies the association between the geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) and overall survival (OS) in patients aged ≥ 18 years with newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), we conducted a multi-centre retrospective study of 552 patients. Multivariable Cox regression with restricted cubic spline (RCS) modelling showed that GNRI was significantly associated with OS, but the relationship was non-linear (P for non-linearity = 0.0158).

Purpose: In this retrospective study, whether [Ga]Ga-DOTA-FAPI-04 PET/MR imaging biomarkers can predict the progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer was investigated.
Methods: Fifty-one patients who underwent [Ga]Ga-DOTA-FAPI-04 PET/MR scans before first-line chemotherapy were recruited. Imaging biomarkers, including the maximum tumor diameter, minimum apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), maximum and mean standardized uptake values (SUV and SUV), fibroblast activation protein- (FAP-) positive tumor volume (FTV and W-FTV) and total lesion FAP expression (TLF and W-TLF), were recorded for primary and whole-body tumors.

Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) is a rare but life-threatening illness characterized by rapid progression to multi-organ failure. This is a case of a middle-aged male patient who initially presented with localized chest wall pain, erythema, vomiting, and diarrhea. These nonspecific symptoms rapidly progressed to systemic shock and multi-organ dysfunction, including acute kidney injury, pleural effusions, demand ischemia of the heart, and the development of a characteristic diffuse, sunburn-like rash.

Cerebral infarction is a rare but serious complication after pulmonary resection for lung cancer. A 78-year-old man with hypertension and diabetes underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic right middle lobectomy for stage IA2 adenocarcinoma. On postoperative day 1, he developed acute right hemiparesis and motor aphasia.
