Article Abstract
Venous webs of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and hepatic veins are rare and can result in Budd-Chiari syndrome. Included images of classic venous webbing are from a 60-year-old woman who presented with abdominal distension/pain, lower extremity edema, elevated liver tests, and ascites due to multifocal venous webbing of the IVC and right hepatic vein. The patient was successfully treated with IVC venous stent placement. Delayed recurrence of ascites, abdominal distention, and liver dysfunction after 3 years of follow-up was attributed to an additional right hepatic vein web/occlusion that was treated with a hepatic vein to IVC recanalization and stenting. The patient had complete resolution of symptoms at 2-year follow-up.

Introduction: There are no reports of patients undergoing McKeown esophagectomy for esophageal cancer after undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy for pancreatic cancer. We report the case of a patient who underwent subtotal esophagectomy and colon reconstruction after pancreaticoduodenectomy using the mesenteric approach.
Case Presentation: A 71-year-old male was diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer.

Background: Disturbances in lipid metabolism are usually associated with hyperlipidemia, which is commonly observed in donkeys with inappetence or anorexia. The diagnostic utility of ultrasound measurements of croup fat thickness (CFT) and relative liver echogenicity for lipomobilization in donkeys with fasting-induced hyperlipidemia was investigated. Gut-derived metabolites are essential for liver fibrogenesis. The aim of this study was to determine the alteration of indole-3-propionic acid (IPA), a crucial tryptophan metabolite, in liver fibrosis and delineate the roles of enterogenic IPA in fibrogenesis. In the present study, metabolomics assays focused on tryptophan metabolism were applied to explore the decreased levels of IPA in the feces and serum of cirrhotic patients, as well as in the feces and portal vein serum of fibrotic mice.
