Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) therapies have demonstrated remarkable clinical efficacy in hematological malignancies, validating their therapeutic potential. However, challenges such as therapeutic resistance and limited accessibility hinder their broader application. To overcome these limitations, alternative CAR-based cell therapies, including CAR-Natural Killer (CAR-NK), CAR-macrophage (CAR-M), and CAR-dendritic cell (CAR-DC) therapies, have been proposed.

To overcome the potential issue of active site blockage by surfactants in colloidal synthesis, alternative synthetic approaches must be explored. In this study, we investigated both solvent-free and colloidal thermolysis routes to synthesize nickel sulfides (NiS and NiS) using sulfur-based Ni complexes, [Ni(SCO(CH))] (Ni-Xan) and [Ni(SCN(CH))] (Ni-DTC) as precursors. The solvent-free decomposition of these complexes produced ligand-free NiS and NiS in the absence or presence of triphenylphosphine (TPP), respectively.

Introduction: Alcohol use disorder (AUD) represents a major public health issue that produces far-reaching physiological effects. AUD is an underappreciated, yet critical risk factor clinicians need to be aware of and screen for to integrate preventive and therapeutic strategies when dealing with pneumonia in this vulnerable population. This research paper investigates the link between AUD and pneumonia by examining both the elevated risk of lung infection and the intensified disease severity.

The global antibiotic resistance issue constitutes a driving force for developing host defense antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) into a new generation of antibiotics. To facilitate this development, we report the antimicrobial peptide database version 6 (APD6) with (i) the consolidated database platform, (ii) the most comprehensive AMP information pipeline (AMPIP), and (iii) the expanded wheel of function. As of 18 March 2025, the APD6 platform housed records for 5188 peptides, including 3306 natural, 1380 synthetic, and 239 predicted AMPs with systematic classification schemes for each group.

Hard carbon (HC) has emerged as a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) owing to its low cost, abundant renewable resources, and high specific capacity. However, its practical application is significantly hindered by the severe initial irreversible capacity loss resulting from sodium consumption during the first cycle. To address this issue, a variety of presodiation strategies have been developed to compensate for the sodium loss and improve the initial coulombic efficiency.
