Article Abstract

We present a case of subacute endocarditis with the detection of Cellulosimicrobium cellulans after tricuspid valve replacement and pacemaker extraction without detection in blood cultures before pacemaker extraction despite multiple testing. This atypical pathogen has rarely been reported in cases of subacute endocarditis, particularly in non-immunocompromised patients. Treatment was initiated using fosfomycin and flucloxacillin and switched to vancomycin upon pathogen detection after pacemaker lead removal and tricuspid valve replacement. Interdisciplinary cooperation between cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and the infectious disease team enabled an accurate diagnosis and optimized antibiotic therapy before surgical intervention.

An excessively high serum cholesterol (CHOL) level in humans can easily lead to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), including hypertension and coronary heart disease. In this study, a CHOL-lowering bacterium, YS01, was isolated from healthy human intestinal microbiota and identified via average nucleotide identity (ANI) analysis. The cells of YS01 degraded 74.

The importance of synthetic microbial communities in agriculture is increasingly recognized, yet methods for constructing targeted communities using existing microbial resources remain limited. Here, six plant-beneficial bacterial strains with distinct functions and rhizosphere resource utilization profiles are selected to construct stable, multifunctional communities for plant growth promotion. Metabolic modeling reveals that narrower resource utilization correlates with increased metabolic interaction potential and reduced metabolic resource overlap, contributing to greater community stability.

This investigation studies the properties and composition of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) of the four tolerant bacterial strains [NH (, TH, YH, and HE ()] under perfluorobutanesulfonic acid (PFBS) stress. The strains were acquired from athickened sludge in a fluorine chemical park. Each strain's EPS were isolated by heating and centrifugation, and their growth, metabolic activity, and EPS alteration research pre- and post-stress were assessed and compared.

Infections with Gram-positive soil-dwelling bacterium are sporadic. Rarely, do patients with indwelling medical devices or those who suffer from immunosuppression get infected by this pathogen. However, based on routine clinical and laboratory procedures, it is hard to distinguish between the meningitis caused by and that from other bacteria.
