Article Abstract

Background: Communities are the main places where the public spend their daily activities, and suitable community environments can help improve their subjective well-being. However, there is still limited evidence on how fitness environments in communities affect the public's subjective well-being. In recent years, Chinese governments have been created the in communities to provide the public with convenient fitness facilities and venues. Whether this policy is effective in improving the public's subjective well-being and the mechanisms that how this policy affects it has not been fully explored. To answer this question, we further focus on the mediating role of sports participation between the and public subjective well-being.

Methods: This study utilizes data from the 2021 China General Social Survey (CGSS) to integrate the , public sports participation, and subjective well-being into a unified analytical framework. A three-step regression model was used to analyse their relationship and the mediating effect of sport participation. And SPSS Macro PROCESS was used to test the robustness of their mediating effects.

Result: Our research findings indicate the following: (1) the has a significant positive predictive effect on the subjective well-being of the Chinese public ( = 0.080, < 0.001), (2) The circles have a significant positive impact on sports participation (β = 0.234, < 0.001), and (3) sports participation serves as a crucial mediator in the relationship between the and subjective well-being [Bootstrap 95% CI: 0.008, 0.019].

Conclusion: The study concludes that community fitness facilities are of great relevance in improving the subjective well-being of the public. The results of the study provide empirical support for the rationalization of the in China, and provide theoretical and practical references for other developing countries in exploring ways to improve the subjective well-being of the public.

Although seasonal influenza vaccination (SIV) is effective and free vaccines are available, the SIV uptake rate remained inadequate among people aged 65 years or older in Hong Kong, China. There was a lack of studies evaluating ChatGPT in promoting vaccination uptake among older adults.

Pragmatic Clinical Trials in Plastic Surgery.

Plast Reconstr Surg

Professor of Surgery, Section of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor, MI.

The use of pragmatic clinical trials has been increasing within medical and surgical research departments but has not yet been widely implemented in plastic surgery. Pragmatic clinical trials (PCTs) are similar to randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in that they both randomize patients to treatments and follow them prospectively after treatment. However, pragmatic trials are less strict than RCTs in many ways: PCTs have fewer inclusion and exclusion criteria to facilitate the recruitment of representative samples, PCTs collect data during routine clinical care, and they commonly rely on subjective patient-reported outcomes.

Background: Children in low- and middle-income countries face obstacles to optimal language and cognitive development due to a variety of factors related to adverse socioeconomic conditions. One of these factors is compromised caregiver-child interactions and associated pressures on parenting. Early development interventions, such as dialogic book-sharing (DBS), address this variable, with evidence from both high-income countries and urban areas of low- and middle-income countries showing that such interventions enhance caregiver-child interaction and the associated benefits for child cognitive and socioemotional development.
