Immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibodies maintain homeostasis between the host and its microbiota, by exerting luminal control over fungi and bacteria. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, Lisicka et al. show that IgA antibodies also control the population of specific members of our virome.

This study aimed to assess the impact of yeast beta-1,3/1,6-glucans (BG) on apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of nutrients, intestinal fermentative metabolites, fecal microbiota profile, and immune and antioxidant variables in puppies before and after surgical challenge. Two treatments were evaluated: control, without, and test, with oral supplementation of 65 mg/kg body weight/day of purified BG from Saccharomyces cerevisiae for 120 days. For this, 16 growing Beagle dogs were distributed in a completely randomized design (n = 8/treatment).

Introduction: This study investigated the mucosal immunoadjuvant effects of Gynostemma Pentaphyllum Extract (Gynostemma P.E), the bioactive constituents of , against porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV).
Methods: Twenty-four mice were randomly divided into four groups: a negative control group (intranasal administration of antigen only), a Gynostemma P.

B cells play a critical role in tumor immunity, with their presence associated with improved prognosis in various cancers, including endometrial cancer (EC). However, the nature of the B cell response within the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains incompletely understood. In this study, we conducted single-cell analyses of B cells and CD4+ T cells in the TME of EC.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is characterized by the development of fluid-filled kidney cysts and relentless progression to renal failure. Current treatments have adverse effects and limited efficacy, enhancing the need for improved therapeutics. Here, we provide a proof of concept for the use of dimeric immunoglobulin A (IgA) (dIgA) monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) to target epithelial-enclosed cysts, by exploiting their ability to transcytose via the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor highly expressed on renal cyst-lining cells.
