The exsolution of ruthenium from a 3 at% ruthenium-substituted LaFeO (LFR3) perovskite oxide is meticulously designed to produce a high-performance ruthenium-supported catalyst with high atomic efficiency. A high-temperature redox pretreatment at 800 °C enriches the Ru concentration in the near-surface region of LFR3, while a subsequent mild reduction step with H at 500 °C leads to the Ru exsolution from the Ru-enriched near-surface region (LFR3_Redox_500R), resulting in a high density of small particles that are not passivated by LaO . The performance of this catalyst is evaluated through its application in two prototypical catalytic reactions: the combustion of propane (oxidation reaction) and the reduction of CO by hydrogenation (reduction reaction). For both reactions, the activity of the redox-pretreated sample LFR3_Redox_500R exhibits a significant increase compared to the activity of the untreated sample (LFR3_500R). In the catalytic hydrogenation of CO, the high selectivity profile undergoes a transition from CO for LFR3_500R to methane for LFR3_Redox_500R.

The defining property of eukaryotic cells is the storage of heritable genetic material in a nuclear compartment. For eukaryotic cells to carry out the myriad biochemical processes necessary for their function, macromolecules must be efficiently exchanged between the nucleus and cytoplasm. The nuclear pore complex (NPC) - which is a massive assembly of ~35 different proteins present in multiple copies totalling ~1,000 protein subunits and architecturally conserved across eukaryotes - establishes a size-selective channel for regulated bidirectional transport of folded macromolecules and macromolecular assemblies across the nuclear envelope.

Effective removal of ethylene (CH) during fruit and vegetables storage and transport remains a critical challenge for post-harvest preservation. Although S-scheme heterojunctions can improve charge separation and redox capacity for ethylene degradation, their efficiency is still restricted by limited carrier transfer and sluggish oxygen activation. Here, we rationally designed a novel 2D/2D SnNbO/BiMoO monolayer S-scheme heterojunction integrated with Pt co-catalyst to address these limitations.

textcolorred This study reports the green synthesis, characterization, and radiation shielding performance of BaOBiO nanocomposites using Euphorbia tirucalli latex as a reducing agent. Structural analysis via PXRD confirmed distinct crystalline phases, and SEM revealed agglomerated nanoparticles below 500 nm. The UV-Vis spectra showed a wide optical bandgap of 3.

In recent years Quantum Computing prominently entered in the field of Computational Chemistry, importing and transforming computational methods and ideas originally developed within other disciplines, such as Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science into algorithms able to estimate quantum properties of atoms and molecules on present and future quantum devices. An important role in this contamination process is attributed to Quantum Information techniques, having the 2-fold role of contributing to the analysis of electron correlation and entanglements and guiding the construction of wave function variational ansatzes for the Variational Quantum Eigensolver technique. This paper introduces the tool SparQ (Sparse Quantum state analysis), designed to efficiently compute fundamental quantum information theory observables on post-Hartree-Fock wave functions sparse in their definition space.

Neuropeptide Y (NPY) and the voltage-gated potassium channel Kv1.3 are closely associated with breast cancer progression and apoptosis regulation, respectively. NPY receptors (NPYRs), which are overexpressed in breast tumors, contribute to tumor growth, migration, and angiogenesis.
