Nutcracker syndrome (NCS) is a rare vascular disorder characterized by compression of the left renal vein, typically causing hematuria, proteinuria, and flank pain. Although NCS is often linked with weight loss and anatomical variations, no previous reports have connected it to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We describe a 44-year-old male with SLE who developed NCS after rapid weight loss, presenting with abdominal pain, hematuria, and proteinuria. Imaging confirmed left renal vein compression between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. This finding suggests that significant weight reduction in SLE may trigger NCS by altering retroperitoneal fat and vascular structures. A literature review reveals a consistent association between NCS and marked weight loss, as well as possible coexistence with other vascular compression syndromes, such as superior mesenteric artery syndrome. Clinicians should consider NCS in SLE patients with sudden weight changes to ensure timely diagnosis and prevent complications.

Unlabelled: Concurrent presentation of pulmonary nocardiosis and granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is exceptionally rare and diagnostically challenging, given the overlapping clinical and radiological features. We report a 54-year-old female with fever, cough, weight loss, and arthralgia. Chest imaging showed multiple pulmonary nodules; serology revealed positive anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies -proteinase 3, and lung biopsy demonstrated necrotizing granulomatous inflammation with Nocardia species.

This study presents a Bacterial Laccase-Mediated System (BLMS) derived from for efficient degradation of polyester- and polyether-PU. Hypocretin, also known as orexin, is a hypothalamic neuropeptide that regulates essential physiological processes including arousal, energy metabolism, feeding behavior, and emotional states. Through widespread projections and two G-protein-coupled receptors-HCRT-1R and HCRT-2R-the hypocretin system exerts diverse modulatory effects across the central nervous system. The role of hypocretin in maintaining wakefulness is well established, particularly in narcolepsy type 1 (NT1), where loss of hypocretin neurons leads to excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy.
