Article Abstract

-Methylacridones (NMAs) substituted at positions 2 and 7 with +M groups (fluorine and methoxy) were synthesized and characterized by steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopy. Solutions of the NMA derivatives in an aprotic solvent (tetrahydrofuran) emit in the deep blue region of the visible spectrum with radiative rate constants larger than 5.4 × 10 s and fluorescence quantum yields up to 0.84. Sensitization experiments employing 1,4-dichlorobenzene give evidence for HIGHrISC behavior of the NMAs, that is, reverse intersystem crossing (rISC) from a higher triplet state T occurs. The spectroscopic results, which are corroborated by quantum chemical calculations, render these derivatives very promising for applications in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Ni-Fe (oxy)hydroxides are among the most active oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in alkaline media. However, achieving precise control over local asymmetric Fe-O-Ni active sites in Ni-Fe oxyhydroxides for key oxygenated intermediates' adsorption steric configuration regulation of the OER is still challenging. Herein, we report a two-step dealloying strategy to fabricate asymmetric Fe-O-Ni pair sites in the shell of NiOOH@FeOOH/NiOOH heterostructures from NiFe Prussian blue analogue (PBA) nanocubes, involving anion exchange and structure reconstruction.

Rationale: This case highlights the importance of considering a wide range of possible diagnoses when faced with unexplained hemorrhagic symptoms. When standard investigations fail to identify a clear cause, it is essential to conduct a detailed dietary history. This can lead to the diagnosis of scurvy, a reversible vitamin C deficiency that is often overlooked in populations at risk.

A novel dual-mode sensing system integrating a magnetic core-shell CuFeO/Cu/MnO nanozyme with a stimuli-responsive agarose-deep eutectic solvent hydrogel (DES-Aga) is reported. The nanozyme exhibits exceptional oxidase-like activity, characterized by a low Michaelis constant (K = 0.14 mM) and high catalytic efficiency (V = 1.

Background: Hexavalent chromium ions (Cr(VI)), a notorious toxic heavy metal pollutant with proven carcinogenicity, endangers human health and the environment. Meanwhile, l-ascorbic acid (L-AA), a vital biological antioxidant, has abnormal levels closely tied to various diseases. Developing efficient synchronous detection methods for these two key analytes is of great value in clinical and environmental monitoring.

Introduction: Blue light (peak wavelength 442 nm) has been shown to modulate the immune response in preclinical models of intra-abdominal sepsis and pneumonia. pathways involve optic nerve stimulation with transmission to the central nervous system, activation of parasympathetic pathways terminating at the spleen, and downstream immune effects including decreased inflammatory tissue damage and improved pathogen clearance. Related effects on pain mediators including proinflammatory cytokines (interleukin 6, TNF- α) and autonomic tone (increased parasympathetic outflow) suggest possible analgesic properties that would be highly relevant to a trauma population.
