Achieving stable output and control of higher-order laser arrays has long been a challenge in the development of a passively Q-switched fiber laser. In this Letter, we reported a notable peak power of 14.9 kW alongside an average output power of 0.91 W in a passively Q-switched fiber laser. Particularly noteworthy is the observed evolution of laser modes into high-order laser arrays, extending to dimensions of up to 7 × 7 with increasing pump power. This advancement in generating high peak power laser arrays in the Q-switched states holds significant promise for applications, including optical communication and nanomicroscopic imaging.

X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is a rare and progressive disease, due to inactivating mutations in the phosphate-regulating endopeptidase homolog X-linked (PHEX) gene. These pathogenic variants result in elevated circulating levels of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), responsible for the main clinical manifestations of XLH, such as hypophosphatemia, skeletal deformities, and mineralization defects. However, XLH also involves muscular disorders (muscle weakness, pain, reduced muscle density, peak strength, and power).

Ultra-fast charging stations (UFCS) present a significant challenge due to their high power demand and reliance on grid electricity. This paper proposes an optimization framework that integrates deep learning-based solar forecasting with a Genetic Algorithm (GA) for optimal sizing of photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). A Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model is employed to forecast PV output, while the GA maximizes the Net Present Value (NPV) by selecting optimal PV and BESS sizes tailored to weekday and weekend demand profiles.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of repeated-sprint training in hypoxia (RSH) versus in normoxia (RSN) in female national-level rugby union players.
Methods: In a randomized, controlled, and crossover study, 8 female rugby union players performed 5 sessions of repeated sprints either in normobaric hypoxia (RSH, simulated altitude: 3000 m; FiO2 = 14.5%) or in normoxia (RSN, terrestrial altitude: 165 m; FiO2 = 20.

Passive acoustic monitoring is an observation method for detecting and characterizing ocean soundscapes, and it has recently been used to observe underwater marine life. The brown croaker () is an important fish species in the Northwest Pacific Ocean that produces biological sounds. In this study, the sounds of 150 adult brown croakers were recorded continuously for three weeks using a self-recording hydrophone.

Identifying and predicting the catastrophic failure of brittle rock remains a challenging task, yet it is crucial for developing early warning systems and preventing dynamic rock hazards. In this study, we employed the propagative parameters of ultrasonic waves and information from acoustic emission (AE) events to characterize the brittle failure of a flawed sandstone sample under uniaxial compression. A sliding event window method was developed to obtain the temporal b-value, effectively revealing microcrack growth based on the frequency-magnitude distribution of AE events.
