Following the publication of the above article, an interested reader drew to the authors' attention that the RT‑PCR data panels shown in Fig. 3C, showing the effects of PBIT and PBI‑Se treatment on endogenous IL‑8 mRNA expression levels in CaCo cells, contained issues. Specifically, on p. 956, a pair of the β‑actin bands in the bottom panel of Fig. 3C were strikingly similar to those featured in the upper panel. Upon examining their original data, the authors realized that the bottom β‑actin panel in Fig. 3C had inadvertently been assembled incorrectly. Moreover, a typo was also identified in the Fig. 3C legend. The revised version of Fig. 3, showing the correct data for the β‑actin bands in the bottom panel in Fig. 3C, and now accurately displaying the correct images for the IL‑8 mRNA and β‑actin expression experiments, is shown on the next page. Additionally, the typo in the Fig. 3C legend has been corrected to read as follows: 'PBI‑Se (1‑4 M) and PBIT (30‑60 M) treatment reduced endogenous IL‑8 mRNA expression in CaCo cells'. Note that the revisions made to this figure do not affect the overall results or the conclusions reported in the paper. The stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a difficulty in urology and current sub-urethral sling treatments are associated with inflamation and recurrence. In this study, we developed a novel tissue-engineered sling with myogenic induced adiposederived stem cells (MI-ADSCs) sheets induced by 5-Aza and combined with electrospun scaffolds of silk fibroin and poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (SF/PLGA) for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence. MI-ADSCs increased α-SMA, MyoD and Desmin the mRNA and protein expression.

The defining property of eukaryotic cells is the storage of heritable genetic material in a nuclear compartment. For eukaryotic cells to carry out the myriad biochemical processes necessary for their function, macromolecules must be efficiently exchanged between the nucleus and cytoplasm. The nuclear pore complex (NPC) - which is a massive assembly of ~35 different proteins present in multiple copies totalling ~1,000 protein subunits and architecturally conserved across eukaryotes - establishes a size-selective channel for regulated bidirectional transport of folded macromolecules and macromolecular assemblies across the nuclear envelope.

Background: Inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs) are a genetically heterogeneous group of conditions, with approximately 40% of cases remaining unresolved after initial genetic testing. This study aimed to assess the impact of a personalised genomic approach integrating whole-exome sequencing (WES) reanalysis, whole-genome sequencing (WGS), customised gene panels and functional assays to improve diagnostic yield in unresolved cases.
Subjects/methods: We retrospectively reviewed a cohort of 597 individuals with IRDs, including 525 probands and 72 affected relatives.

Several genes in the mitochondria of angiosperms are interrupted by introns, and their posttranscriptional excision involves numerous nucleus-encoded auxiliary factors. Most of these factors are of eukaryotic origin, among them members of the pentatricopeptide-repeat (PPR) family of RNA-binding proteins. This family divides into the PLS and P classes, with PLS-class proteins typically participating in C-to-U mRNA editing and P-class members contributing to transcript stabilization and intron splicing.
