The work examines the determination of gold from environmental samples by dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) method. The method was developed for the separation and determination of Au (III) ions after chelating with bis (salicylaldehyde) ethylenediimine (HSAen) Schiff-base as derivatizing reagent. Flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) and inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) techniques were used for quantitation of Au (III). These techniques are sensitive and rapid for the determination of gold concentrations in ore, water and sediment samples. The influence of factors such as pH, reagent concentration, solvents (extracting) (disperser) and solvent volumes on extraction efficiency of Au (III) ions were studied and optimized by univariate and multivariate techniques. The linearity of the method was in the range of 2 to 12 µg/L with R = 0.997. The limit of detection was 1 µg/L, and the limit of quantification was 3 µg/L. The preconcentration factor and enrichment factor values were 44 and 47. The repeatability (the intra-day) and reproducibility (the inter-day) precisions (n = 3) were found to be 0.417-3.56%. The proposed method was successfully applied for the determination of gold in sediment samples of the Indus River, Kori Barrage, goldsmith water, acidic solution of goldsmith and ornament samples collected from Goldsmith Labs and shops. The results found from FAAS were compared with those obtained from ICP-OES technique, and a good correlation with comparable selectivity and sensitivity was specified.

Issue Addressed: Social media's potential use has been underestimated in preventive interventions targeting young people despite its importance in psychosocial development. This structured narrative review examined both the positive and negative use of social media by young Australians and its health impacts with a focus on social media-based interventions.
Method: Following a narrative review approach, 34 papers were analysed from four databases (Medline, PsycINFO, CINAHL and Embase) from 2010 to 2025 to provide indications for leveraging the positive aspects.

To develop and validate a deep-learning-based algorithm for automatic identification of anatomical landmarks and calculating femoral and tibial version angles (FTT angles) on lower-extremity CT scans. In this IRB-approved, retrospective study, lower-extremity CT scans from 270 adult patients (median age, 69 years; female to male ratio, 235:35) were analyzed. CT data were preprocessed using contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization and RGB superposition to enhance tissue boundary distinction.

Illicit drug abuse poses a significant global threat to public health and social security, highlighting the urgent need for rapid, sensitive, and versatile detection technologies. To address the limitations of traditional chromatographic techniques-such as high costs and slow response times-and the drawbacks of conventional immunochromatographic sensors (ICS), including low sensitivity and non-intuitive signal outputs, a fluorescence-quenching ICS (FQICS) was developed. This sensor leverages fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between aggregation-induced emission fluorescent microspheres (AIEFMs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs).

Introduction: This study evaluated the fatigue resistance of two Nickel-titanium (NiTi) engine-driven file systems with identical geometries and different heat treatments tested under static and dynamic conditions in simulated root canals.
Methods: Cyclic fatigue tests were conducted using ProTaper Universal (PTU) and ProTaper Gold (PTG) instruments with a curvature of 35° and a radius of 6 mm in both static and dynamic modes at body temperature using a customized cyclic fatigue testing device. The number of cycles to fracture (NCF) was recorded.

The aim of this in-vitro study was to verify which field of view (FOV) in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) yields greater accuracy in the detection of internal root resorption (IRR) volume, in comparison to the gold standard of micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and to a physical method. Twenty-five extractedsingle-rooted teeth were scanned by CBCT with two different FOV parameters (6x6-FOV and 10x10-FOV) and via micro-CT. The volume of dental hard tissue was measured on these images.
