Background: The diagnostic accuracy of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) for the diagnosis of lymphoma has a low overall sensitivity. The lack of tissue architecture obtained by cytological needles decreases the diagnostic accuracy for diagnosis and subtyping of and relapsed mediastinal lymphomas. This study compares the sensitivity of EBUS-TBNA and endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial mediastinal cryobiopsy (EBUS-TMC) for both initial lymphoma diagnosis and recurrent cases, analyses safety, and evaluates the number of mediastinoscopies that could potentially be avoided due to this novel technique.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) and chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) are common respiratory conditions that significantly impact patient health and contribute to substantial healthcare burdens. While conventional treatments offer symptom relief, many patients continue to experience persistent symptoms, side effects, or resistance to standard therapies. This highlights the growing need for novel, non-invasive, and sustainable therapeutic strategies to manage chronic airway inflammation.

The study of electrochemical oxidations has wide-ranging implications, from the development of new electrocatalysts for fuel cells for energy conversion, to the synthesis of fine chemicals. 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) has been used for decades as a sustainable, metal-free mediator for chemical oxidations and is now being used for electrochemical oxidations. We describe here a novel approach to TEMPO-mediated electrooxidations, in which the chemical input and waste generated during electrooxidations of alcohols are minimized by using a multifunctional room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) to facilitate flow electrosynthesis.

YOLOv10-kiwi: a YOLOv10-based lightweight kiwifruit detection model in trellised orchards.

Front Plant Sci

August 2025

College of Mathematics and Computer Science, Yan'an University, Yan'an, Shaanxi, China.

To address the challenge of real-time kiwifruit detection in trellised orchards, this paper proposes YOLOv10-Kiwi, a lightweight detection model optimized for resource-constrained devices. First, a more compact network is developed by adjusting the scaling factors of the YOLOv10n architecture. Second, to further reduce model complexity, a novel C2fDualHet module is proposed by integrating two consecutive Heterogeneous Kernel Convolution (HetConv) layers as a replacement for the traditional Bottleneck structure.

Polystyrene nanoplastics reprogramed pulmonary metabolisms mediated by immune regulation of myeloid hypoxia-inducible factor 1α.

Exposure to nanoplastics (NPs), a pervasive environmental pollutant, presents potential health risks. Pulmonary exposure to NPs has been shown to disrupt both pulmonary metabolic status and immune homeostasis, leading to concerns about their impact on respiratory health and systemic well-being. However, the underlying linkage and mechanisms remain elusive.
