Species-specific behaviour and environmental drivers of trap interactions in wild ornamental fishes.

J Fish Biol

September 2025

School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK.

The harvest of animals from the wild is a pervasive selective force, especially in fisheries, where harvesting often targets individuals with specific traits. While most research has focused on large-scale commercial or recreational fisheries, little attention has been paid to artisanal fisheries, particularly those targeting ornamental species. Furthermore, environmental factors such as temperature and oxygen levels influence the behaviour of fishes, such as boldness and sociability, but their role in the harvesting process remains poorly understood.

Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Reveals Potential Mechanism of RUNX3 Reshaping Tumor Microenvironment in Non-small-cell Lung Cancer.

Ann Surg Oncol

September 2025

Department of Thoracic Surgery, Clinical Oncology School of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Cancer Hospital, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China.

Background: RUNX3 acts as a tumor suppressor gene in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), yet its specific biological mechanism is still unclear. This study aimed to uncover tumor microenvironment (TME) changes in NSCLC with varying RUNX3 expression statuses through single-cell RNA sequencing.

Patients And Methods: In total, seven patients with NSCLC with detailed pathological data were involved, with three both paracancerous and cancerous tissue samples.

Cognitive therapies and insight in early schizophrenia: A systematic review.

Encephale

September 2025

Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, C2S, Reims, France; Groupe Hospitalier Paul-Guiraud, GHT Psy Sud, Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Electronic address:

Objectives: This systematic review aims to evaluate the impact of cognitive-behavioral and metacognitive therapies on cognitive and clinical insight into early schizophrenia disease.

Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted across several databases, including Pubmed, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Library, focusing on studies published between 2006 and May 2024. The studies selected for this review were either randomized controlled trials (RCTs), cross-sectional studies, or exploratory studies.

Accurate identification of fetal torso ultrasound planes is essential in pre-natal examinations, as it plays a critical role in the early detection of severe fetal malformations and this process is heavily dependent on the clinical expertise of health care providers. However, the limited number of medical professionals skilled at identification and the complexity of fetal plane screening underscore the need for efficient diagnostic support tools. Clinicians often encounter challenges such as image artifacts and the intricate nature of fetal planes, which require adjustments to image gain and contrast to obtain clearer diagnostic information.

Genome-wide investigation and functional analysis of 20S proteasome subunits in Locusta migratoria.

Pestic Biochem Physiol

November 2025

Key Laboratory of Zoological Systematics and Application of Hebei Province, College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, China. Electronic address:

The 20S proteasome is a core component of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, participating in various biological processes such as cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, apoptosis, and protein homeostasis. However, its roles in mammals are well-documented, its function in the insect intestine remains largely unexplored. In this study, we identified 14 20S proteasome subunits, including 7 α-subunits and 7 β-subunits in Locusta migratoria, a worldwide agricultural pest.
