Evaluating the bioaccessibility and health risks of seafood is extremely important because, although it is a significant source of vital minerals, it may also contain potentially toxic elements. This study aimed to determine the content of metals and minerals in different seafood species before and after thermal processing. Also, given the risk of overestimating the actual final concentration available in the body, a study was carried out to determine the bioaccessibility of these elements by simulating the digestion process in the gastrointestinal tract.

With the expansion of TiO applications in various fields, TiO inevitably enters the soil, increasing the possibility of plant roots being exposed to high concentrations of TiO. Therefore, it is important to study plant growth under TiO exposure conditions. In this study, the combination method of inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (LA-ICP-MS) was used to evaluate the effect of TiO on the content and distribution of nutrient elements in different parts of cucumber seedlings.

Background: Standard-sample bracketing (SSB) and element doping are widely used for correcting instrumental mass bias in Fe-Zn isotope analysis using multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS). However, the combined effects of analyte concentration and spike-analyte ratios on measurement accuracy remain underexplored.
Methods: We developed an improved Fe-Zn isotope analysis method that combines SSB with element doping to mitigate concentration effects.

Background: This work focused on the study of the indirect fortification of Mexican tortillas made from nixtamalized masa (NM) with nixtamalized commercial corn flour (NCC-F) fortified with Zn, Fe, vitamins and folic acid.
Methods: The chemical proximate values (CPV), ash content, mineral composition by inductively coupled plasma, in vitro protein digestibility (PD), protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS), the total starch content, the resistant starch (RS) content in nixtamalized corn tortillas (NC-T) and nixtamalized commercial corn flour tortillas (NCCF-T) and the contribution of tortillas prepared with a mixture of NM and NCC-F (75:25 and 50:50, NM:NCC-F) to the recommended dietary intake (RDI) of minerals and vitamins were determined.
Results: No significant differences ( < 0.
