Article Abstract

In the process of rice production, rice pests are one of the main factors that cause rice yield reduction. To implement prevention and control measures, it is necessary to accurately identify the types of rice pests and diseases. However, the application of image recognition technologies focused on the agricultural field, especially in the field of rice disease and pest identification, is relatively limited. Existing research on rice diseases and pests has problems such as single data types, low data volume, and low recognition accuracy. Therefore, we constructed the rice pest and disease dataset (RPDD), which was expanded through data enhancement methods. Then, based on the ResNet structure and the convolutional attention mechanism module, we proposed a to extract multi-scale features at a finer granularity. The proposed LMN model achieved an average classification accuracy of 95.38% and an F1-Score of 94.5% on the RPDD. The parameter size of the model is 1.4 M, and the FLOPs is 1.65 G. The results suggest that the LMN model performs rice disease and pest classification tasks more effectively than the baseline ResNet model by significantly reducing the model size and improving accuracy.

Many neurological and psychiatric diseases are characterized by pathological neuronal activity. Current treatments involve drugs, surgeries, and implantable devices to modulate or remove the affected region. However, none of these methods can be simultaneously nonsurgical and possess site- and cell type specificity.

Since its emergence in 2020, a novel bacterial leaf blight caused by Pantoea ananatis has posed a serious threat to rice production in Anhui Province, China. Through verification via Koch's postulates and three years of field monitoring, P. ananatis strain HQ01 was identified as the dominant pathogen, exhibiting high virulence even at low inoculum concentrations (10² CFU/mL).

Background: Rare genetic variation provided by whole genome sequence datasets has been relatively less explored for its contributions to human traits. Meta-analysis of sequencing data offers advantages by integrating larger sample sizes from diverse cohorts, thereby increasing the likelihood of discovering novel insights into complex traits. Furthermore, emerging methods in genome-wide rare variant association testing further improve power and interpretability.

Temporal transcriptomics reveal crucial networks underlying jasmonate-mediated diurnal floret opening and closure in rice.

Diurnal floret opening and closure (DFOC) is essential for rice reproductive development and hybrid breeding, yet transcriptional dynamics and underlying regulatory networks remain poorly characterized. Here, we conducted high-temporal-resolution transcriptomic analyses of lodicules to dissect DFOC regulatory networks in two japonica rice cultivars. Analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) uncovered core genes shared by both cultivars, primarily associated with jasmonic acid (JA) signaling and cell wall remodeling.

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1)-induced hepatotoxicity is a common toxic disease in poultry farming. However, there is currently a lack of effective pharmaceutical interventions for treating AFB1. Astaxanthin (AST), a natural carotenoid, exhibits potent antioxidant and immune-enhancing properties.
