The paper presents a study on the fabrication of a lightweight acoustic hyperbolic paraboloid (HyPar) diaphragm using self-assembly nanoarchitectonics. The diaphragm is composed of a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) network combined with graphene oxide (GO) nanolayers. Spray coating is employed as a fabrication method, providing a simple and cost-effective approach to create large-scale curved diaphragms. The results demonstrate that the PAN/GO diaphragm exhibits acoustic performance comparable to a commercially available banana pulp diaphragm while significantly reducing weight and thickness. Notably, the graphene-based diaphragm is 15 times thinner and 8 times lighter than the commercial banana pulp diaphragm. This thinner and lighter nature of the graphene-based diaphragm offers advantages in applications where weight and size constraints are critical, such as in portable audio devices or acoustic sensors.

As modern industry continues to advance, noise pollution is becoming increasingly severe, posing a significant threat to the global economy and human health. Given their porous structure and lightweight properties, aerogels exhibit substantial potential in the field of acoustics. Concurrently, the use of environmentally-friendly, biodegradable materials such as chitosan (CS) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) not only helps address environmental challenges but also contributes to reducing pollution.

This study investigates the use of a local fiber, specifically milkweed that grows in Quebec, Canada, for nonwoven building applications. Milkweed is a natural fiber with an ultra-lightweight hollow structure that provides excellent acoustic and thermal insulation properties. To provide three-dimensional stability to nonwovens, milkweed fibers were blended with a low-melt fiber composed of a polyethylene terephthalate core and a polyolefin sheath (LM 2.

Understanding cellular heterogeneity is crucial for deciphering infection mechanisms, disease progression, and identifying novel biomarkers for personalized therapies, which provides valuable insights into biological processes and supports decision-making in biomedical settings. Microfluidics is a compact and lightweight system that enables efficient, high-throughput single-cell isolation and real-time analysis, making it the prevailing technology for single-cell analysis. Despite the advantages, microfluidic methods face several limitations, such as the need for off-chip pretreatment and post-processing, poor cell manipulation, and high cell damage, which hinder their broader application.

In order to address vibration and noise challenges in modern industry while satisfying the lightweighting requirements for aerospace and transportation applications, the development of polymer elastomers integrating both lightweight and high-damping properties holds substantial significance. This study developed polyurethane (PU) with optimized damping and mechanical properties at room temperature through monomer composition optimization. Hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) were introduced into the PU matrix to increase stiffness and reduce density, though this resulted in decreased tensile strength (Rm) and loss factor (tanδ).

This research presents DuSAFNet, a lightweight deep neural network for fine-grained bird audio classification. DuSAFNet combines dual-path feature fusion, spectral-temporal attention, and a multi-band ArcMarginProduct classifier to enhance inter-class separability and capture both local and global spectro-temporal cues. Unlike single-feature approaches, DuSAFNet captures both local spectral textures and long-range temporal dependencies in Mel-spectrogram inputs and explicitly enhances inter-class separability across low, mid, and high frequency bands.
