Donepezil hydrochloride is a widely used medication for treating Alzheimer's disease. This study utilized terahertz time-domain spectroscopy to analyze the fingerprint spectra of donepezil hydrochloride, identifying five characteristic absorption peaks at 1.65, 2.44, 2.56, 3.31, and 3.75 THz. The vibrational spectrum of the donepezil hydrochloride crystal was further examined using solid-state density functional theory. Based on simulation calculations, the characteristic peaks were identified and analyzed in detail, focusing on long-range ordering and weak interaction networks. The results demonstrate that terahertz spectroscopy is an effective tool for studying intermolecular interactions in drug crystals.

Background: Despite the availability of these therapies, maintaining long-term adherence remains a significant challenge.
Objective: This retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate 12-month and 5-year persistence with antidementia drug therapy in Germany and to examine the association between demographic and clinical variables and the risk of therapy discontinuation.
Methods: Patients aged 60 years or older from the IQVIA Longitudinal Prescription Database who received an initial prescription for antidementia therapy between 2016 and 2023 (index date) were included.

Objectives: To exple the mechanism of Granules (QXZG) for enhancing synaptic plasticity in aging rats.
Methods: Forty SD rats were randomized into control group, aging model group, donepezil treatment group, and QXZG treatment group (=10). Except for the control rats, all the rats were subjected to daily intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose for 8 consecutive weeks to induce brain aging, and donepezil hydrochloride and QXZG suspension were administered by gavage during modeling.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: YangXue QingNao Wan (YXQN) is a compound Chinese medicine comprising of 11 traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, including Angelica sinensis, Ligusticumstriatum, and Paeonia lactiflora, etc. Previous studies in our laboratory have demonstrated that YXQN improved cerebral microcirculation in hypertensive rats. However, its efficacy and underlying mechanisms in treating vascular dementia (VaD) remain unclear.

This multicentre randomized controlled trial evaluated the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in improving cognitive function, daily living abilities, and quality of life in patients with Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VCI). In addition to standardized functional assessments, the authors also measured serum levels of BDNF, IL-6, and TNF-α as exploratory biomarkers of neuroplasticity and inflammation.
