Transcription factors (TFs) are essential proteins that regulate gene expression by specifically binding to transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs) within DNA sequences. Their ability to precisely control the transcription process is crucial for understanding gene regulatory networks, uncovering disease mechanisms, and designing synthetic biology tools. Accurate TFBS prediction, therefore, holds significant importance in advancing these areas of research.

Introduction: Numerical optimization plays a key role in improving the efficiency of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and solving complex engineering problems. Traditional optimization methods often struggle with finding optimal solutions within a reasonable timeframe due to high-dimensional and non-linear problem landscapes.
Objectives: This study aims to introduce a novel swarm intelligence algorithm, the Beaver Behavior Optimizer (BBO), inspired by the cooperative behaviors of beavers during dam construction.

Background: The clinical diagnosis of tremor disorders depends on the interpretation of subtle movement characteristics, signs, and symptoms. Given the absence of a universally accepted biomarker, differentiation between essential tremor (ET) and tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease (PD) frequently proves to be non-trivial.
Objective: To identify generalizable tremor characteristics to differentiate ET and PD using feature extraction and machine learning (ML).

Objectives: Escherichia coli bacteraemias have been under mandatory surveillance in the UK for fifteen years, but cases continue to rise. Systematic searches of all features present within electronic healthcare records (EHRs), described here as an EHR-wide association study (EHR-WAS), could potentially identify under-appreciated factors that could be targeted to reduce infections.
Methods: We used data from Oxfordshire, UK, and an EHR-WAS method developed for use with large-scale COVID-19 data to estimate associations between E.

Mathematical modeling is a powerful tool for understanding and predicting complex dynamical systems, ranging from gene regulatory networks to population-level dynamics. However, model predictions are highly sensitive to initial conditions, which are often unknown. In infectious disease models, for instance, the initial number of exposed individuals (E) at the time the model simulation starts is frequently unknown.
