Background: Uniportal video assisted thoracoscopic surgery has become widely accepted with increasing subxiphoid approach for major pulmonary resections. The purpose of this study was to verify the safety and feasibility of a SHURUI single port (SP) Robotic Surgical System in subxiphoid right upper lobectomy.
Methods: Five swine models were used to perform subxiphoid right upper lobectomy with SHURUI SP Robotic Surgical System. Operation details were recorded to assess the safety and feasibility of the SHURUI system.
Results: Results showed that the operation success was 100%. The time from anaesthesia to complete docking of the robotic system was 30.0 (20.0, 36.0) minutes and the total operation time was 125.0 (62.0, 142.5) minutes. Blood loss during operation was 30.0 (25.0, 125.0) mL. No death or complications occurred during the operation.
Conclusions: Uniportal robotics assisted right upper lobectomy via subxiphoid approach with SHURUI system performed in this study preliminary showed its safety and feasibility.

BACKGROUND Chest wall hernia and residual pleural space are known complications after thoracoscopic anatomical lung resection. Some risk factors for chest wall hernia have been described; however, residual pleural space has never been described as one of them. We present 2 cases suggesting that postoperative residual air space can represent a newly identified risk factor for chest wall hernia.

Pulmonary epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (P-EMC) is a rare type of salivary gland tumour of the lung. Due to its rarity and lack of long-term follow-up data, there is no established standard for optimal treatment or duration of follow-up. The present study reports the case of a 58-year-old female patient with P-EMC originating from the middle part of the bronchus and presenting as an endobronchial mass in the left superior lobe.

Introduction: Lung cancer with chest wall (CW) involvement can develop metastases directly to the ipsilateral axillary lymph node (ALN) via lymphatic flow of the CW. Such metastatic ALNs should be evaluated as locoregional metastases, and multimodal treatment of patients with stage III lung cancer including surgery may be utilized.
Case Presentation: A 59-year-old man presented with a chief complaint of back pain and was diagnosed as having primary lung adenocarcinoma of the right upper lobe with CW involvement and an ipsilateral ALN metastasis (cT3N0M1b: IVA, 8th edition of the tumor, node, metastasis).

Pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinomas (PMECs) are rare malignancies that often present with non-specific pulmonary symptoms and obstructive pneumonia. We present a 19-year-old female who presented with two years of recurrent pneumonia, dyspnea, and left-sided pleuritic pain. Review of serial ED imaging would identify a persistent lung infiltrate located in the left upper lobe.

Lymphocytic interstitial pneumonia (LIP) is a rare, benign lymphoid interstitial lung disease that frequently masquerades as malignancy on imaging and even frozen‑section histology. We report the case of a 65‑year‑old Vietnamese woman who presented with chronic right‑sided chest pain and a nonproductive cough. Baseline high‑resolution computed tomography (HRCT) revealed a 28 × 20 mm irregular opacity in the right upper lobe with scattered bilateral micronodules, all of which proved refractory to empirical antibiotics.
