Background And Purpose: In recent years, research on the relationship between hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis (HBV-LC) and gut microbiota has grown, but studies focusing on the Northwest Chinese population are scarce. This study characterized the gut microbiota composition and function in HBV-LC patients vs. healthy individuals in Northwest China, aiming to provide a scientific basis for region-specific precision therapies.

This paper discusses the diagnostic findings and treatment options for DIC associated with vascular abnormalities based on the "Clinical practice guidelines for management of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) in Japan 2024" released in early 2025. The guidelines define vascular abnormalities as aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, vasculitis syndromes, and vascular malformations. DIC with enhanced fibrinolysis is a type of DIC often observed in association with vascular abnormalities.

The link between heart failure (HF) and increased prothrombotic risk has gathered attention, with several studies exploring this association. Patients with HF and severe mitral regurgitation (MR) undergoing transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) may present enhanced left atrial (LA) function and improve thrombosis-related factors due to the procedure. This study investigates the role of left atrial strain (LAS), assessed via speckle-tracking echocardiography, in detecting subtle LA abnormalities and its potential link to thrombotic risk in severe MR patients.

Hypertension in the brain may lead to hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH), a devastating disease. This study, grounded on bioinformatics insights, aims to investigate the functions of Selectin E (SELE) and forkhead box P1 (FOXP1) in the progression of HICH. Increased SELE expression was detected in the striatum of a mouse model of HICH generated via angiotensin II and L-NAME treatments.

Wound care in military and combat environments poses distinct challenges that set it apart from conventional medical practice in civilian settings. The nature of injuries sustained on the battlefield-often complex, contaminated, and involving extensive tissue damage-combined with limited access to immediate medical intervention, significantly increases the risk of infection, delayed healing, and adverse outcomes. Traditional wound dressings frequently prove inadequate under such extreme conditions, as they have not been designed to address the specific physiological and logistical constraints present during armed conflicts.
