Article Abstract

Two structurally new Lindqvist hexaniobate-templated silver thiolate clusters, [NbO@Ag(PrS)(CHCOO)] (Ag) and (HO)[NbO@AgKSO(HO)(PrS)(CHCOO)] (Ag), were synthesized using a facile one-pot solvothermal approach. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses revealed the presence of a classical Lindqvist-type [NbO] anion template, with PrS and CHCOO surface-protecting ligands in both silver clusters, which can further form two-dimensional Ag assembly and one-dimensional Ag chain packing structures. Both Ag and Ag clusters exhibited intriguing photothermal conversion properties and temperature-dependent emission behavior.

Cosmic Blueprint to Nanoscale Design: Hoag's Object-Like Polyoxovanadate Encapsulated by a Hierarchical Silver Nanocluster.

The pervasive presence of toroidal architectures across scales, from molecular assemblies to cosmic formations, reveals a universal design principle that integrates aesthetic symmetry with functional topology in nature. Yet, constructing such hierarchical toroidal organization at the nanoscale, particularly for metal nanoclusters, remains an unmet challenge. We present an unprecedented wheel-shaped silver nanocluster, [(VO⊂VO)@Ag(BuPhC≡C)(SO)(DMF)] (), encapsulating an unparalleled hierarchical toroidal [VO⊂VO] polyoxovanadate (POV).

Background: Dietary interventions promoting weight loss are central to managing Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). While short-term benefits of various diets on liver health are well-documented, their long-term effects remain unclear. This study reports one-year follow-up results from a randomized controlled trial of a 12-week diet intervention.

Balancing midwifery values with rural reality: Swedish midwives' views of midwifery continuity of care - A qualitative study.

Objective: Despite strong evidence of the benefits, Sweden has limited access to midwifery continuity of care (MCoC), particularly in rural areas. There is a knowledge gap regarding how MCoC would function in a rural Swedish context. Therefore, this study aimed to explore midwives' personal and professional views on a MCoC model and its implementation within a rural context in northern Sweden.

Theoretical Study on the Electrochemical Properties of Ti-Modified Vanadium-Oxide Clusters.

Key Laboratory of Polyoxometalate Science of Ministry of Education, Faculty of Chemistry, Northeast Normal University, Changchun 130024, P. R. China.

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed to systematically investigate the electrochemical properties of a series of vanadium-oxide clusters, including Lindqvist-type polyoxovanadates (POVs), [VO(OCH)] (), [TiVO(OCH)] (), and [TiVO(OCH)] () as well as the cationic vanadium-oxide cluster [TiVO(OCH)] (). Analysis on the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) reveals that Ti modification shifts the electron-gaining center to Ti atoms, while V atoms remain the electron-losing centers. DFT calculations demonstrate that Ti modification effectively modulates the redox potentials of vanadium-oxide clusters and significantly broadens their electrochemical windows.

Zr-substituted polyoxometalates (Zr-POMs) with Lindqvist, Keggin and Wells-Dawson structures, (BuN)[{WOZr(μ-OH)}] (Zr-L), (BuN)[{PWOZr(μ-OH)}] (Zr-K) and (BuN)H[{PWOZr(μ-OH)}] (Zr-WD), can activate the environmentally friendly oxidant -butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) and efficiently catalyse the oxidation of various thioethers to produce sulfoxides and sulfones. Ti- and Nb-substituted POMs are significantly less active than Zr-POMs. The activity and selectivity of Zr-POMs strongly depend on their structural type.
