Article Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of porphyrin center regulated three-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with 2-fold interpenetrated scu or sqc topology have been investigated. These COFs exhibit unique structural features and properties, making them promising candidates for photocatalytic applications in CO reduction and artemisinin synthesis. The porphyrin center serves as an anchor for metal ions, allowing precise control over structures and functions of the frameworks. Furthermore, the metal coordination within the framework imparts desirable catalytic properties, enabling their potential use in photocatalytic reactions. Overall, these porphyrin center regulated metal-controlled COFs offer exciting opportunities for the development of advanced materials with tailored functionalities.

On-liquid surface synthesis of diyne-linked two-dimensional polymer crystals.

The synthesis of thin crystalline two-dimensional polymers (2DPs) typically relies on reversible dynamic covalent reactions. While substantial progress has been made in solution-based and interfacial syntheses, achieving 2DPs through irreversible carbon-carbon coupling reactions remains a formidable challenge. Herein, we present an on-liquid surface (a mixture of N,N-dimethylacetamide and water, DMAc-HO) synthesis method for constructing diyne-linked 2DP (DY2DP) crystals via Glaser coupling, assisted by a perfluoro-surfactant (PFS) monolayer.

Gold/Prussian Blue-Based Nanocomposites with Dual Nanozyme Activities Exert a Synergistic Effect of Starvation Therapy and Sonodynamic Therapy in the Treatment of Liver Cancer.

School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Key Laboratory of Targeting Therapy and Diagnosis for Critical Diseases, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, 450001, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a composite nanozyme system (Au/PB-Ce6-HA) based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and Prussian blue nanoparticles (PBNPs) to combat tumor hypoxia and insufficient endogenous hydrogen peroxide (HO) deficiency, thus enhancing the efficacy of sonodynamic therapy (SDT) and starvation therapy for liver cancer.

Methods: The Au/PB-Ce6-HA system was constructed by in situ embedding AuNPs on PBNPs, loading the sonosensitizer Chlorin e6 (Ce6), and surface-coating with thiolated hyaluronic acid (HA-SH). The system was evaluated both in vitro and in vivo to assess its ability to catalyze glucose to generate HO, decompose HO to produce oxygen, and generate highly toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) under ultrasound irradiation.

The title complex, [Fe(CHN)(CHN)]·3CH, possesses inversion symmetry with the iron(II) atom located on a center of symmetry. The metal atom is coordinated in a symmetric octa-hedral geometry by four pyrrole N atoms of the porphyrin ligand in the equatorial plane and two N atoms of 1-methyl-imidazole ligands in the axial sites; the complex crystallizes with three toluene solvent mol-ecules. The average Fe-N (N is a porphyrin N atom) bond length is 1.

The spontaneous formation of an ordered array of twisted cobalt(II) porphyrins yields a 2D self-assembled structure that is then wrapped around multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and characterized using different techniques. The structure of β-tetracyano--tetraphenylporphyrinatocobalt(II) (2-Co) shows axial ligation of the metal center with cyano groups when it is adsorbed on the nanotube sidewalls, and the nanotube acts as a template for the formation of the framework layer. The electrocatalytic applications of the formed conjugate are explored in terms of the activity and the selectivity in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in basic media.

Suppression of Paclitaxel-Induced Neuropathy and Ovarian Tumor Growth by Mn Porphyrin, MnTnBuOE-2-PyP (BMX-001).

Numerous cellular and animal studies demonstrated the ability of redox-active Mn(III) -alkyl- and -alkoxyalkylpyridyporphyrins (MnPs) to protect normal tissue while suppressing tumor growth. The mechanism primarily involves the modulation of NF-кB and Nrf2 signaling pathways via catalysis of MnP/HO-driven protein thiol oxidation. Such differential protection/suppression effects have paved the way of Mn porphyrins (commonly known as mimics of superoxide dismutase) into clinical trials, therefore introducing new line of therapeutics that are affecting cellular redox status/oxidative stress, rather than specific proteins.
