Article Abstract

ATLAS measured the centrality dependence of the dijet yield using 165  nb^{-1} of p+Pb data collected at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16  TeV in 2016. The event centrality, which reflects the p+Pb impact parameter, is characterized by the total transverse energy registered in the Pb-going side of the forward calorimeter. The central-to-peripheral ratio of the scaled dijet yields, R_{CP}, is evaluated, and the results are presented as a function of variables that reflect the kinematics of the initial hard parton scattering process. The R_{CP} shows a scaling with the Bjorken x of the parton originating from the proton, x_{p}, while no such trend is observed as a function of x_{Pb}. This analysis provides unique input to understanding the role of small proton spatial configurations in p+Pb collisions by covering parton momentum fractions from the valence region down to x_{p}∼10^{-3} and x_{Pb}∼4×10^{-4}.

Identity is among the most robust psychological constructs for predicting whether individuals translate physical activity (PA) intentions into action. However, existing identity measures in the PA domain focus narrowly on exercise and largely adopt limited unidimensional conceptualizations. This study aimed to develop and validate the Multidimensional Inventory of Physical Activity Identity (MIPAI-25), a novel instrument grounded in a multidimensional, theoretically integrated framework.

Leveraging port state measures to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.

Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing threatens the sustainability of fisheries and communities dependent on them. The Port State Measures Agreement (PSMA) is a key tool for combatting IUU fishing by foreign fleets, requiring standardized inspections, information sharing, and port denial. Using satellite data, we characterized how PSMA has affected high seas vessel behavior and identify opportunities to strengthen its impact.

Theory predicts that high population density leads to more strongly connected spatial and social networks, but how local density drives individuals' positions within their networks is unclear. This gap reduces our ability to understand and predict density-dependent processes. Here we show that density drives greater network connectedness at the scale of individuals within wild animal populations.

Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) is a curative option for patients with high-risk malignancies and non-malignant disorders. Long-term survival depends on robust immune reconstitution (IR), which governs overall immune homeostasis and risks of infection, graft-versus-host disease, and relapse. However, despite its centrality to post-transplant outcomes, IR is not consistently monitored across transplant centers, limiting ability to generate meaningful, comparable, and translatable data.

Aim: This study explores how lipid metabolic reprogramming contributes to the pathogenesis of pulpitis and identifies key molecular targets involved in regulating inflammation, with the goal of developing metabolic interventions to preserve dental pulp vitality.

Methodology: Primary human dental pulp cells (HDPCs) were stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and subjected to integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic profiling to map inflammation-associated metabolic shifts. Functional validation included linolenic acid (LA) supplementation (alone or combined with a Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) inhibitor, TVB-2640), Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1 (NR4A1) knockdown, cytokine/NF-κB assessment (ELISA, Western blot), and lipid droplet/FASN visualisation (immunofluorescence).
