Assessing the adequacy of immunosuppression in pediatric liver transplantation with immune Monitoring: Are we there yet?

Current approaches used for pediatric liver transplant (LT) surveillance have diagnostic limitations. We used pleximmune™ immune reactivity index (IRI) and anti-HLA donor specific antibody (DSA) to predict the adequacy of immunosuppression (IS) relative to risk of acute cellular rejection (ACR) at 1-year post LT. This is a retrospective chart review of children who underwent LT between January 1, 2016, through December 31, 2020, and had at least one pleximmune measurement performed within 60-days of a liver biopsy.

Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education-accredited midwifery education programs are challenged to meet institutional pass rate goals and support graduates seeking to enter the midwifery workforce. There are financial, emotional, and social consequences for graduates who do not pass the AMCB NCE that undermine their success.

Improved injury detection through harmonizing multi-site neuroimaging data after experimental TBI: a Translational Outcomes Project in Neurotrauma consortium study.

Multi-site neuroimaging studies have become increasingly common in order to generate larger samples of reproducible data to answer questions associated with smaller effect sizes. The data harmonization model NeuroCombat has been shown to remove site effects introduced by differences in site-related technical variance while maintaining group differences, yet its effect on improving statistical power in pre-clinical models of CNS disease is unclear. The present study examined fractional anisotropy data computed from diffusion weighted imaging data at 3 and 30 days post-controlled cortical impact injury from 184 adult rats across four sites as part of the Translational-Outcome-Project-in-Neurotrauma (TOP-NT) Consortium.

Density-dependent network structuring within and across wild animal systems.

Theory predicts that high population density leads to more strongly connected spatial and social networks, but how local density drives individuals' positions within their networks is unclear. This gap reduces our ability to understand and predict density-dependent processes. Here we show that density drives greater network connectedness at the scale of individuals within wild animal populations.

Skin-deep resilience in Black youth: Striving and sleep reactivity to daily stress.

Objective: Referred to as "skin-deep resilience," previous studies have found that striving-characterized by high levels of self-control and perseverance-is linked with better psychological health, but worse physical health, particularly among youth of color who have low socioeconomic status. However, the underlying mechanisms are unclear. This study investigated the role of sleep reactivity (poorer sleep following daily stress) in skin-deep resilience by examining the associations among striving, sleep reactivity, psychological health, and a subclinical marker of cardiovascular disease.

Background: Decompressive hemicraniectomy (DHC) can improve outcome in patients with elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) refractory to medical therapy. However, this transition point for treating refractory ICPs with DHC is unclear as ICPs can often be controlled with escalating doses of medical management. A more individualized and precise way to monitor and define medically "refractory ICP" may be achieved with the utilization of a quantitative electroencephalography (EEG) parameter called burst suppression ratio (BSR).

Aim: To investigate cardiopulmonary changes using transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) in NCPH and their correlation with clinical features.

Methods: Prospective cohort including 10 preclinical NCPH [without portal hypertension (PH)] and 32 NCPH subjects who underwent TTE with agitated saline injection and comprehensive clinical evaluation were assessed.

Primary cutaneous Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive polymorphic B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder (LPD) is a rare LPD associated with iatrogenic and endogenous immune dysregulation with the commonest risk factor being immunosuppressive therapy. We present a 55-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis, previously on methotrexate, who developed a waxing and waning papulonodular eruption on the chest and neck. Histopathology revealed a lymphohistiocytic infiltrate with atypical EBV+/CD30+ B cells, consistent with EBV+ polymorphic B-cell LPD.

Introduction: Aortic stenosis (AS) is treated with either transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) or Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). However, limited data exist to study the postoperative clinical outcomes in patients with AS and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The objective of this study is to compare TAVR and SAVR postoperative clinical outcomes in patients with AS and CKD.
