Atomically precise metal clusters serve as a unique model for unraveling the intricate mechanism of the catalytic reaction and exploring the complex relationship between structure and activity. Herein, three series of water-soluble heterometallic clusters LnCu, abbreviated as LnCu-AC (Ln = La, Nd, Gd, Er, Yb; HAC = acetic acid), LnCu-IM (Ln = La and Nd; IM = Imidazole), and LnCu-IDA (Ln = Nd; HIDA = Iminodiacetic acid) are presented, each featuring a uniform metallic core stabilized by distinct protected ligands. Crystal structure analysis reveals a triangular prism topology formed by six Cu ions around one Ln ion in LnCu, with variations in Cu···Cu distances attributed to different ligands. Electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) shows that these different LnCu clusters exhibit different OER activities with remarkable turnover frequency of 135 s for NdCu-AC, 79 s for NdCu-IM and 32 s for NdCu-IDA. Structural analysis and Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations underscore the correlation between shorter Cu···Cu distances and improves OER catalytic activity, emphasizing the pivotal role of active-site distance in regulating electrocatalytic OER activities. These results provide valuable insights into the OER mechanism and contribute to the design of efficient homogeneous OER electrocatalysts.

Objective: This study examined false-positive rates and associated factors on the Vestibular/Ocular Motor Screening (VOMS) in healthy US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) personnel using the symptom provocation cutoff of ≥1 for any VOMS item as recommended in the Military Acute Concussion Evaluation 2 (MACE 2).
Setting: Military site.
Participants: Active-duty USASOC personnel aged 18 to 40 years with 20/20 vision, no duty limitations, and no recent concussion.

Dual-atom catalysts (DACs) display excellent activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The dual-metal configuration allows for synergistic interactions and tailored adsorption of key intermediates, thereby breaking traditional OH-OOH scaling relations and enabling dissociative O activation pathways. Recent studies suggest that the metal-metal (M-M) distance within DACs critically influences their electronic structure and catalytic behavior; however, a deep understanding of M-M distance effects on ORR thermodynamics and kinetics is presently lacking.

SIRT6, a pivotal member of the NAD-dependent deacetylase superfamily, regulates critical biological processes, including DNA repair, transcriptional regulation, and aging. The deacetylase activity of SIRT6 is allosterically coupled to NAD⁺ binding, enabling site-specific removal of acetyl moieties from lysine substrates. Despite its physiological significance, the structural mechanisms underlying the allosteric regulation mediated by its N-terminal domain (NTD) have remained elusive.

Chronic pain is a maladaptive state where pain signals persist beyond the expected resolution of injury or illness. Morphine and related compounds, acting as µ-opioid receptor (µOR) agonists, are effective analgesics for managing this condition. However, chronic morphine administration can disrupt µOR trafficking and activate β-arrestin-mediated pathways, leading to opioid tolerance.

Aedes aegypti, the primary vector of dengue virus, is predominantly considered an urban mosquito, especially in the Americas, where its reemergence began in cities after the end of continent-wide eradication campaigns. The results of our study diverge from this narrative, demonstrating the recent and widespread rural invasion of Ae. aegypti along major shipping routes in the northern Peruvian Amazon between the major cities of Iquitos, Pucallpa, and Yurimaguas.
