Using advanced cyclic testing techniques improves accuracy in estimating capacity fade and incorporates real-world scenarios in battery cycle aging assessment. Here, we present a protocol for conducting cyclic tests in lithium-ion batteries to estimate capacity fade. We describe steps for implementing strategies for accounting for variations in rest periods, charge-discharge rates, and temperatures. We also detail procedures for validating tests experimentally within a climate-controlled chamber and for developing an empirical model to estimate capacity fading under various testing objectives. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Mulpuri et al..

Hardness of meat is one of the most important textural properties noted while eating. Bromelain, found in pineapples, is an enzyme that degrades collagen, a factor that affects meat hardness. The latter is generally evaluated based on shear strength and texture; however, such methods are destructive.

Polar protic and aprotic solvents can effectively simulate the maturation of breast carcinoma cells. Herein, the influence of polar protic solvents (water and ethanol) and aprotic solvents (acetone and DMSO) on the properties of 3-(dimethylaminomethyl)-5-nitroindole (DAMNI) was investigated using density functional theory (DFT) computations. Thermodynamic parameters retrieved from the vibrational analysis indicated that the DAMNI's entropy, heat capacity, and enthalpy increased with rising temperature.

Background And Objectives: Older adults living with dementia are a heterogeneous group, which can make studying optimal medication management challenging. Unsupervised machine learning is a group of computing methods that rely on unlabeled data-that is, where the algorithm itself is discovering patterns without the need for researchers to label the data with a known outcome. These methods may help us to better understand complex prescribing patterns in this population.

Evidence suggests that working memory (WM) capacity decreases with age, resulting in cognitive decline. Given the link between aging and reduced hippocampal volume, this study examined whether and how hippocampal volume is associated with WM. 46 participants aged 65-85 years (Mage = 71.

Objective: Anoikis is an anchorage-dependent programmed cell death implicated in multiple pathological processes of cancers; however, the prognostic value of anoikis-related genes (ANRGs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unclear. Our study aims to develop an ANRGs-based prediction model to improve prognostic assessment in HCC patients.
Methods: The RNA-seq profile was performed to estimate the expression of ANRGs in HCC patients.
