Neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation, or NETosis, is a key innate immune response that contributes to cardiovascular diseases, including vascular inflammation, atherosclerosis, and thrombosis. In the cardiovascular system, neutrophils encounter mechanical cues such as shear stress, matrix stiffness, and cyclic stretch that influence their activation and NET release. This review examines emerging evidence linking altered mechanotransduction to dysregulated NETosis in vascular aging and cardiovascular pathology.

Currently, there is no effective treatment for elevated intracranial pressure in the acute phase of subarachnoid hemorrhage. Recently, we developed "step-down infusion of barbiturate," a therapeutic strategy for severe traumatic brain injury, which decreased intracranial pressure and significantly reduced mortality without serious side effects. This study aimed to examine the efficacy of step-down infusion of barbiturate in patients with severe subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Background: A DNA barcode is a short DNA fragment used to classify and identify specific organisms, taking advantage of the specificity and diversity inherent in biological molecules. Since Herbert introduced the concept in 2003, DNA barcoding has been increasingly used in precision medicine and related fields, including species identification and environmental monitoring, over the past few decades. Although numerous molecular diagnostic techniques have emerged, many face notable obstacles such as sensitivity to handling conditions, high expenses, and limitations in accuracy.

Immunotherapy, including immune checkpoint blockade, CART cells and bispecific antibodies have resulted in dramatic improvements in outcomes for patients with hematological malignancies, demonstrating the unique potency of the immune system in targeting malignant cells. The development of cancer vaccines aims to evoke an activated effector cell population and a memory response to provide long term immune surveillance to protect from relapse. Developing a potent cancer vaccine relies on identifying appropriate antigen targets, enhancing antigen presentation, and overcoming the immune suppressive milieu of the micro-environment.

Intratympanic (IT) delivery of dexamethasone (DEX) is widely used for treating inner ear disorders; however, its therapeutic efficacy is limited by poor permeability of the round window membrane (RWM). This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of three pharmacological agents-histamine (HIS), 3% hypertonic saline (3% HS), and sodium caprate (SC)-as adjuvants for enhancing RWM permeability and improving IT-DEX delivery in a murine model. Following IT administration of each permeability enhancer followed by DEX injection, perilymph DEX concentrations were measured using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography, and DEX receptor expression in the organ of Corti was assessed by immunofluorescence.
