Self-Propelled Magnetic Micromotor-Functionalized DNA Tile System for Autonomous Capture of Circulating Tumor Cells in Clinical Diagnostics.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

September 2025

Key Laboratory of Emergency and Trauma of Ministry of Education, The First Affiliated Hospital, NHC Key Laboratory of Tropical Disease Control, School of Tropical Medicine & The Second Affiliated Hospital, Hainan Medical University, Haikou, 571199, China.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) carry intact tumor molecular information, making them invaluable for personalized cancer monitoring. However, conventional capture methods, relying on passive diffusion, suffer from low efficiency due to insufficient collision frequency, severely limiting clinical utility. Herein, a magnetic micromotor-functionalized DNA-array hunter (MMDA hunter) is developed by integrating enzyme-propelled micromotors, magnetic nanoparticles, and nucleic acid aptamers into distinct functional partitions of a DNA tile self-assembly structure.

Autoimmune nodopathies: emerging insights and clinical implications.

Curr Opin Neurol

October 2025

Neuromuscular Diseases Unit, Department of Neurology, IR SANT PAU, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, CIBERER, Barcelona, Spain.

Purpose Of Review: Autoimmune nodopathies (AN) are a recognized distinct group of immune-mediated peripheral neuropathies with unique immunopathological features and therapeutic implications. This review synthesizes recent advances in their pathogenesis, diagnosis, and management, which have refined their clinical classification and informed targeted treatment strategies.

Recent Findings: AN are characterized by autoantibodies targeting surface proteins in the nodal-paranodal area (anti-contactin-1, anti-contactin-associated protein 1, anti-neurofascin-155, anti-pan-neurofascin), predominantly of IgG4 subclass.

Mercury(II) ions (Hg) are one of the most common and highly toxic heavy metal ions, which can contaminate the environment and damage the human health. Therefore, the precise detection of trace Hg concentration is particularly important. Herein, gold nanoparticles-enhanced silver-coated hollow fiber (HF) surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor was developed for the highly sensitive detection of Hg ions.

Background: The long-term clinical efficacy of intraportal islet transplantation is hampered by islet loss due to inflammation, oxidative stress, and insufficient vascularization. This study explores the venous sac as an alternative implantation site for islet transplantation in large animal models.

Methods: An immunosuppressed, diabetic cynomolgus monkey received allogeneic islet implants in its mesenteric venous sac, with metabolic assessments over 112 days.

A Review of the Importance and Relevance of Real-World Data and Real-World Evidence.

Med Sci Monit

August 2025

Science Editor, Medical Science Monitor, International Scientific Information, Inc., Melville, NY, USA.

Real-world data are routinely collected data associated with patient health status or delivery of health care from sources including patient registries, electronic health records (EHRs), medical claims data, or digital health technologies. Real-world evidence is generated from specified clinical real-world data and includes evidence of the use, benefits, and risks of a medical product. Analysis of real-world data is the basis of real-world evidence to support the use and potential benefits or risks of a medical product.
