Background: the chemometric processing of second-order chromatographic-spectral data is usually carried out with the aid of multivariate curve resolution-alternating least-squares (MCR-ALS). Recently, an alternative procedure was described based on the estimation of image moments for each data matrix and subsequent application of multiple linear regression after suitable variable selection.
Results: The analysis of both simulated and experimental data leads to the conclusion that the image moment method, although can cope with chromatographic lack of reproducibility across injections, it only performs well in the absence of uncalibrated interferents. MCR-ALS, on the other hand, provides good analytical results in all studied situations, whether the test samples contain uncalibrated interferents or not.
Significance: The results are useful to assess the real usefulness of newly proposed methodologies for second-order calibration in the case of chromatographic-spectral data sets, especially when samples contain unexpected chemical constituents.

Background: Coronal wedge insoles are commonly prescribed to mitigate musculoskeletal disorders, yet their static-standing kinematic and kinetic effects on lower extremity joints remain insufficiently understood.
Methods: This cross-sectional experimental study included 15 healthy older adults (mean 64.9 ± 6.
Background: Altered knee joint loading is pervasive and persistent after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) and a significant driver for the development of knee osteoarthritis (OA).
Purpose: To describe a prospective, parallel, randomized controlled trial aiming to evaluate the efficacy of an eight-week squat visual biofeedback program implemented early after ACLR.
Study Design: Randomized controlled clinical trial.

Unlabelled: Nasal glial heterotopia (nasal glioma) is a rare congenital benign accumulation of glial tissue displaced into the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses.
Objective: To analyze our own clinical cases of nasal glioma (features of the clinic, diagnosis and treatment) and compare them with data from foreign literature.
Material And Methods: A retrospective review of medical histories with a diagnosis of nasal glial heterotopia was conducted from 2017 to November 2023 at the pediatric otorhinolaryngological department of the National Medical Research Center for Otorhinolaryngology.

Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is often diagnosed many years after diabetes onset, highlighting the need for early diagnosis. The current study aimed to assess whether texture analysis of computed optical coherence tomography (OCT) retinal images can identify (very) early retinal changes. We previously reported retinal texture changes in a type 1 diabetes animal model.

We report time-sliced velocity map imaging studies of the methyl (CH) and electronically excited sulfur (S(D)) fragments formed following the photoexcitation of jet-cooled CHSH molecules in the 2A'' ← X̃ A' absorption band (. at wavelengths in the range 190 ≤ ≤ 210 nm). Analyses of images of CH fragments in their = 0, 1 and 2 vibrational levels confirm the perpendicular parent transition dipole moment and prompt bond fission and show that the ground state SH(X) partners are formed with an inverted vibrational population distribution, peaking at = 2 at the shortest excitation wavelengths investigated.
