Article Abstract

This study aimed to develop a recycling process for the remnants of milled 3Y-TZP and enhance their properties using glass infiltration. 3Y-TZP powder was gathered from the vacuum system of CAD-CAM milling equipment, calcined and sieved (x < 75 μm). One hundred twenty discs were fabricated and pre-sintered at 1000 °C/h. These specimens were then divided into four groups, categorized by glass infiltration (non-infiltrated [Zr] or glass-infiltrated [Zr-G]) and sintering temperature (1450 °C [Zr-1450] or 1550 °C [Zr-1550]/2h). After sintering, the specimens were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), relative density measurement, and scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). The biaxial flexural strength test was performed according to the ISO 6872 and followed by fractographic analysis. Subsequent results were analyzed using Weibull statistics. Relative density values of the sintered specimens from Zr-1450 and Zr-1550 groups were 86.7 ± 1.5% and 92.2 ± 1.7%, respectively. Particle size distribution revealed particles within the range of 0.1-100 μm. XRD analysis highlighted the presence of the ZrO-tetragonal in both the Zr-1450 and Zr-1550 groups. Glass infiltration, however, led to the formation of the ZrO-monoclinic of 9.84% (Zr-1450-G) and 18.34% (Zr-1550-G). SEM micrographs demonstrated similar microstructural characteristics for Zr-1450 and Zr-1550, whereas the glass-infiltrated groups exhibited comparable infiltration patterns. The highest characteristic strength was observed in the glass-infiltrated groups. Fractographic analyses suggested that fracture origins were related to defects on the tensile side, which propagated to the compression side of the samples. Both the sintering temperature and glass infiltration significantly influenced the mechanical properties of the 3Y-TZP recycled.

Disordered Inverse Photonic Beads Assembled From Linear Block Copolymers.

Structurally colored colloids, or photonic pigments, offer a sustainable alternative to conventional dyes, yet existing systems are constrained by limited morphologies and complex synthesis. In particular, achieving angle-independent color typically relies on disordered inverse architectures formed from synthetically demanding bottlebrush block copolymers (BCPs), hindering scalability and functional diversity. Here, we report a conceptually distinct strategy to assemble three-dimensional inverse photonic glass microparticles using amphiphilic linear BCPs (poly(styrene-block-4-vinylpyridine), PS-b-P4VP) via an emulsion-templated process.

Bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) is a severe complication in patients undergoing long-term bisphosphonate therapy, while our knowledge on the pathogenesis of BRONJ is far from sufficient. Gamma delta (γδ) T cells predominantly distribute in mucosal tissues and play an important role in both immune modulation and bone metabolism; however, the mechanism of γδ T cells in the pathogenesis of BRONJ has not been elucidated. Here, we induced BRONJ-like lesions in wild-type (WT) and T-cell receptor delta-deficient (TCRδ) mice via intraperitoneal zoledronate injection.

is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen increasingly encountered in hospital environments, particularly in intensive care units (ICUs), where it presents a major clinical challenge due to its multidrug-resistant (MDR) profile. Its resistance to multiple antibiotic classes makes it a serious therapeutic challenge, particularly in post-surgical patients where symptoms may be atypical. We report a case of a previously healthy 64-year-old male patient with a history of hypertension and coronary artery disease, admitted to the ICU following elective abdominal aortic aneurysm repair.

Phosphorus-32 microspheres: A dual-modality transarterial radioembolization approach for hepatocellular carcinoma therapy and Anti-PD1 immunotherapy potentiation.

Transarterial radioembolization (TARE) is a key therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) management and downstaging. While Y microspheres (glass/resin) are widely used, their clinical application is limited by complexity, short half-life, and high costs. Thus, novel radionuclide microspheres are crucial.

Background: To clearly reveal the correlations between epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status and clinicopathological characteristics, Ki67 expression and immune cell Infiltration in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) with different radiological subtypes.

Methods: Patients with pathological stage 0-III LUAD who underwent resection and received EGFR detection in our department between July 2019 and May 2023 were retrospectively reviewed. All included patients were divided into four groups based on different consolidation-to-tumour ratio (CTR).
