Article Abstract

Photolithography is a well-established fabrication method for realizing multilayer electronic circuits. However, it is challenging to adopt photolithography to fabricate intrinsically stretchable multilayer electronic circuits fully composed of an elastomeric matrix, due to the opacity of thick stretchable nanocomposite conductors. Here, we present photothermal lithography that can pattern elastomeric conductors and via holes using pulsed lasers. The photothermal-patterned stretchable nanocomposite conductor exhibits 3 times higher conductivity (5940 S cm) and 5 orders of magnitude lower resistance change (/ = 40) under a 30% strained 5000th cyclic stretch, compared to those of a screen-printed conductor, based on the percolation network formed by spatial heating of the laser. In addition, a 50 μm sized stretchable via holes can be patterned on the passivation without material ablation and electrical degradation of the bottom conductor. By repeatedly patterning the conductor and via holes, highly conductive and durable multilayer circuits can be stacked with layer-by-layer material integration. Finally, a stretchable wireless pressure sensor and passive matrix LED array are demonstrated, thus showing the potential for a stretchable multilayer electronic circuit with durability, high density, and multifunctionality.

Due to its sizable direct bandgap and strong light-matter interactions, the preparation of monolayer MoS has attracted significant attention and intensive research efforts. However, multilayer MoS is largely overlooked because of its optically inactive indirect bandgap caused by interlayer coupling. It is highly desirable to modulate and decrease the interlayer coupling so that each layer in multilayer MoS can exhibit a monolayer-like direct-gap behavior.

Artificial cytoskeletons are constructed to study the structure and function of eukaryotic cells. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) provide a strong foundation for the construction of artificial cytoskeleton by encapsulating enzyme, yet challenges such as random enzyme distribution and poor catalytic efficiency, impede the development of artificial cytoskeleton technologies. Herein, a multilayer MOFs-based programmable artificial cytoskeleton was constructed through a heterogeneous interfacial growth method, utilizing hierarchical encapsulation of enzymes to facilitate tandem biocatalytic reactions.

Silicon carbide (SiC) has attracted considerable interest for use in electronics, aerospace, and nuclear energy applications owing to its excellent electrical and mechanical properties. In the nuclear industry, SiC serves as an effective tritium permeation barrier. However, a significant discrepancy remains between the experimentally measured diffusion coefficients and the theoretical predictions.

The emergence of antimicrobial resistance poses significant challenges in conventional antibiotic treatments for chronic wound infections, highlighting an urgent need for alternative therapeutic strategies. To address this issue, we developed a multifunctional electrospun nanofiber dressing co-loaded with anthocyanin (ATH) and asiaticoside (AS) that possesses antimicrobial activity. The tri-layer dressing contains three functional components: a hydrophilic polyacrylonitrile-anthocyanin (PAN-ATH) layer for pH monitoring, a hydrophobic polycaprolactone (PCL) layer for exudate management, and a water-soluble pullulan-Bletilla striata polysaccharide-asiaticoside (PUL-BSP-AS) layer.
