Objective: This study aimed to identify dynamic spatiotemporal traffic factors influencing conflict risk levels on National Highways under heterogeneous traffic conditions in India. The research addresses gaps by capturing vehicle interactions using high-resolution UAV-based trajectory data and proposes a novel two-stage methodology for real-time conflict risk evaluation, moving beyond traditional binary risk classifications to a four-level framework (High, Moderate, Low, No-Risk).
Methods: Over 40,000 conflict risk sequences were classified into four severity levels using the Modified Time-to-Collision (MTTC) surrogate safety measure.

Appropriate use of scientific early-warning infectious disease surveillance methods plays a vital role in disease control and prevention. Recently infectious gastroenteritis has become an important public health problem. In consideration of meteorological factors strongly linked with the incidence of infectious gastroenteritis, we obtained data on the number of infectious gastroenteritis cases and meteorological data from January 2008 to June 2023, a total of 808 weeks.

Background: The primary objective of this randomized, double-blind, parallel-group trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intrathecal hyperbaric bupivacaine in conjunction with either fentanyl or dexmedetomidine in mitigating visceral pain during cesarean delivery.
Method: One hundred and sixteen parturients, classified as ASA II-III and scheduled for elective cesarean section, will be randomized 1:1 into two groups: Group BF will receive 10 mg hyperbaric bupivacaine in combination with 10 µg fentanyl. In contrast, Group BD will receive 10 mg hyperbaric bupivacaine in combination with 5 µg dexmedetomidine.

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) viruses, particularly H5N1 and H7N9, have long been considered potential pandemic threats, despite the absence of sustained human-to-human transmission. However, recent outbreaks in previously unaffected regions, such as Antarctica, suggest we may be shifting from theoretical risk to a more imminent threat. These viruses are no longer limited to avian populations.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA growing wave of new medical devices are helping to pull back the curtain on the human brain through neuromonitoring-the use of electroencephalography (EEG) and other real-time neurophysiological signals to record and analyze neural activity. Starting with the development of EEG in the 1930s, neuromonitoring evolved first into a behind-the-scenes scientific research and medical diagnostic tool. Neuromonitoring moved into the operating room starting in the late 1970s to help protect neural functions during delicate surgeries and now is expanding to use artificial intelligence algorithms as a digital "co-pilot" to help spot potential issues faster.
