Background: Sotrovimab is a neutralising monoclonal antibody targeting the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sotrovimab in the RECOVERY trial, an investigator-initiated, individually randomised, controlled, open-label, adaptive platform trial testing treatments for patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19.
Methods: Patients admitted with COVID-19 pneumonia to 107 UK hospitals were randomly assigned (1:1) to either usual care alone or usual care plus a single 1 g infusion of sotrovimab, using web-based unstratified randomisation.

Background: Genetic research on nicotine dependence has utilized multiple assessments that are in weak agreement.
Methods: We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of nicotine dependence defined using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-NicDep) in 61,861 individuals (47,884 of European ancestry [EUR], 10,231 of African ancestry, and 3,746 of East Asian ancestry) and compared the results to other nicotine-related phenotypes.
Results: We replicated the well-known association at the locus (lead single-nucleotide polymorphism [SNP]: rs147144681, = 1.

Background: In cancer, lack of social support is associated with reduced survival. Peer support interventions have reduced social isolation among Black women with cancer but have yet to be adapted for Black people diagnosed with endometrial cancer - a growing, high-need demographic that has been historically excluded from community-engaged research. Our research team at the University of Washington addressed this gap by working within an established community partnership to develop a pragmatic randomized controlled trial to adapt and test social support interventions among Black women with EC - the Social Interventions for Support during Treatment of Endometrial Cancer and Recurrence (SISTER) Study.

UPF consumption is associated with many adverse health outcomes in cohort studies. In the UK, a nutrient profiling model (NPM) is used to identify foods high in fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) and several policies target these.
