Background And Aims: In perennial crops, efficient resource acquisition critically depends on whole-plant architecture, encompassing both canopy and root systems. In grafted grapevine, research has largely focused on scion canopy structure, whereas root system architecture - despite its key role in water and nutrient uptake - remains underexplored. This study comprehensively analyzed whole-plant 3D architecture during vineyard establishment, investigating how different rootstock genotypes influence both root and shoot development.

Ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase (RuBisCO) is the primary regulator of carbon fixation in the plant kingdom. Although the large subunit (RBCL) is the site of catalysis, RuBisCO efficiency is also influenced by the sequence divergence of the small subunit (RBCS). This project compared the RBCS gene family in C3 and C4 grasses to identify genetic targets for improved crop photosynthesis.

Manganese (Mn) excess and low pH often coexist in some citrus orchard soils. Little information is known about the underlying mechanism by which raising pH reduces Mn toxicity in citrus plants. 'Sour pummelo' ( (L.

Range-expanding species, or neonatives, are native plants that spread beyond their original range due to recent climate or human-induced environmental changes. was initially planted near the Guadalquivir estuary for dune stabilisation. However, changes in the sedimentary regime and animal-mediated dispersal have facilitated its exponential expansion, threatening endemic species and critical dune habitats.
