The occurrence of superconductivity in proximity to various strongly correlated phases of matter has drawn extensive focus on their normal state properties, to develop an understanding of the state from which superconductivity emerges. The recent finding of superconductivity in layered nickelates raises similar interests. However, transport measurements of doped infinite-layer nickelate thin films have been hampered by materials limitations of these metastable compounds: in particular, a high density of extended defects. Here, by moving to a substrate (LaAlO)(SrTaAlO) that better stabilizes the growth and reduction conditions, we can synthesize the doping series of NdSrNiO essentially free from extended defects. In their absence, the normal state resistivity shows a low-temperature upturn in the underdoped regime, linear behaviour near optimal doping and quadratic temperature dependence for overdoping. This is phenomenologically similar to the copper oxides despite key distinctions-namely, the absence of an insulating parent compound, multiband electronic structure and a Mott-Hubbard orbital alignment rather than the charge-transfer insulator of the copper oxides. We further observe an enhancement of superconductivity, both in terms of transition temperature and range of doping. These results indicate a convergence in the electronic properties of both superconducting families as the scale of disorder in the nickelates is reduced.

The potential of hafnia-based ferroelectric materials for Ferroelectric Random Access Memory (FeRAM) applications is limited by the imprint effect, which compromises readout reliability. Here, we systematically investigate the asymmetric imprint behavior in W/HfZrO/W ferroelectric capacitors, demonstrating that the imprint direction correlates directly with the ferroelectric polarization state. Notably, a pre-pulse of specific polarity can temporarily suppress the imprint effect.

Nucleic acid aptamers are artificial recognition elements with great potential in biotechnology. For their effective integration into nanodevices, rational strategies for optimizing aptamer affinity and regulating activity are essential. Artificial nucleotide analogs offer versatile tools for both fundamental and applied research in the aptamer field.

The coupling of -acyl-'-substituted hydrazines with (hetero)aryl bromides and chlorides is efficiently catalyzed by CuI/4-hydroxy picolinamide and Cu(OAc)/6-hydroxy picolinohydrazide, respectively. Under these conditions, a broad range of (hetero)aryl halides and -acyl-'-substituted hydrazines react smoothly at 80-120 °C, affording the corresponding products in good to excellent yields in most cases.

Tailoring the crystalline structure and facet orientation of T-NbO anode electrodes is pivotal for optimizing the Li transport kinetics. Herein, a crystallization engineering strategy is employed to synthesize urchin-like T-NbO microspheres composed of single-crystalline whiskers growing along the (001) orientation. These whiskers are characterized by nearly 100% exposed vertical (001) facets that accelerate Li diffusion.

Ampere-level electrocatalytic nitrate reduction to ammonia (eNRA) offers a carbon-neutral alternative to the Haber-Bosch process. However, its energy efficiency is critically hampered by the inherent conflict between the reaction and diffusion. Herein, we propose a reaction-diffusion-coupled strategy implemented on a well-tailored CuCoNiRuPt high-entropy alloy aerogel (HEAA) to simultaneously realize energy barrier homogenization and accelerate mass transport, endowing ampere-level eNRA with a high energy efficiency.
