Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS) is a transformative technology that enables full-length, single-molecule sequencing of native RNA, capturing transcript isoforms and preserving epitranscriptomic modifications without cDNA conversion. This review outlines key advances in DRS, including optimized protocols for mRNA, rRNA, tRNA, circRNA, and viral RNA, as well as analytical tools for isoform quantification, poly(A) tail measurement, fusion transcript identification, and base modification profiling. We highlight how DRS has redefined transcriptomic studies across diverse systems-from uncovering novel transcripts and alternative splicing events in cancer, plants, and parasites to enabling the direct detection of m6A, m5C, pseudouridine, and RNA editing events.

Transformers have been successfully applied in the field of video-based 3D human pose estimation. However, the high computational costs of these video pose transformers (VPTs) make them impractical on resource-constrained devices. In this paper, we present a hierarchical plug-and-play pruning-and-recovering framework, called Hierarchical Hourglass Tokenizer (HOT), for efficient transformer-based 3D human pose estimation from videos.

was identified in human and mouse Huntington's disease brain as the pathogenic exon 1 mRNA generated from aberrant splicing between exon 1 and 2 of that contributes to aggregate formation and neuronal dysfunction. Detection of the huntingtin exon 1 protein (HTT1a) has been accomplished with Meso Scale Discovery, Homogeneous Time Resolved Fluorescence and immunoprecipitation assays in Huntington's disease knock-in mice, but direct detection in homogenates by gel electrophoresis and western blot assay has been lacking. Subcellular fractions prepared from mouse and human Huntington's disease brain were separated by gel electrophoresis and probed by western blot with neoepitope monoclonal antibodies 1B12 and 11G2 directed to the C-terminal eight residues of HTT1a.

The ability of parasitoid wasps to precisely locate hosts in complex environments is a key factor in suppressing pest populations. Chemical communication plays an essential role in mediating insect behaviors such as locating food sources, hosts, and mates. Odorant receptors (ORs) are the key connection between external odors and olfactory nerves.

The emergence of CRF80_0107 resulted from recombination between co-circulating CRF01_AE and CRF07_BC genotypes. To date, no secondary recombinants involving CRF80_0107 as a parental strain have been documented in public sequence databases. Here, we report the identification and characterization of a novel HIV-1 CRF80_0107/B recombinant form isolated from a treatment-naïve men who have sex with men (MSM) individual in Baoding City, Hebei Province, China.
