In this paper, , a new species of the sect. from Turkey, is described and illustrated. The new species is endemic to Central Anatolia, limited to the area of Nevşehir, where it grows on sandy or rocky soil at an elevation of 1000-1300 m a.s.l. Its morphology, phenology, karyology, leaf anatomy, seed testa micromorphology, chorology, and conservation status are examined in detail. The taxonomic relationships with the closest allied species, and , are also highlighted and discussed.

Wounds on the skin are a common health issue affecting working equines. This study aimed to evaluate the in-vitro antibacterial properties of crude methanolic extracts from selected medicinal plants against pathogens isolated from equine skin wounds in Merti district. Agar well and disc diffusion tests were used to determine the mean zone of inhibition, while broth dilution methods were used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations and minimum bactericidal concentrations (MBCs), further confirming the potent antibacterial effects of the selected medicinal plant extracts.

Seed germination and early seedling growth are pivotal stages that define crop establishment and yield potential. Conventional agrochemicals used to improve these processes often raise environmental concerns, highlighting the need for sustainable alternatives. In this study, we demonstrated that water treated with cylindrical dielectric barrier discharge (c-DBD) plasma, enriched with nitric oxide (NO) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), markedly enhanced onion () seed germination and seedling vigor.

Subgenus is the second largest subgenus of , with a wide distribution ranging from the Canary Islands to northwestern India. This study investigates the phylogeny, biogeographic patterns, and morphological character evolution of the subgenus using 117 accessions representing 107 taxa across the 19 currently recognized sections within subgenus . Although the subgenus is monophyletic, significant incongruence exists between morphological and molecular data.

Cryptic speciation, an endemic problem in biodiversity hotspots, arises as a result of an uncoupling among three processes: lineage splitting, morphological diversification, and ecological divergence during rapid speciation. We studied speciation processes in Phycella (Amaryllidaceae), a clade mostly restricted to the Chilean Biodiversity Hotspot, aiming to differentiate the relative roles of geographic and ecological speciation as well as the role of secondary gene flow in this radiation. We sampled a total of 137 individuals from 47 populations, including all described taxa throughout the geographic range of the group.
