Article Abstract

Uncovering an efficient and stable photocatalytic system for seawater splitting is a highly desirable but challenging goal. Herein, CdZnS@Silicalite-1 (CZS@S-1) composites, in which CZS is embedded in the hierarchical zeolite S-1, were prepared and show remarkably high activity, stability and salt resistance in seawater.

Encapsulation of non-noble bimetallic nanoparticles within a zeolite framework can improve the stability and accessibility of active sites, but the single microporous structure and poor metal stability decreased the catalytic performance of the catalyst. Here, 3D hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolite encapsulated NiCo nanoparticles (NiCo@3DHZ5) were synthesized by Bottom-up confined steam-assisted crystallization (SAC) one-pot hydrothermal method and applied to the hydrodeoxygenation of vanillin. A series of characterizations showed that highly stable alloyed NiCo nanoparticles were encapsulated in a framework of 3DHZ5, the strong metal-zeolite interactions resulted in highly dispersed NiCo nano-alloys facilitated hydrogen adsorption and spillover of active hydrogen atoms, and the 3D hierarchical structure promoted oxygenated substrate diffusion, the synergy interaction between the alloy particles confined in the 3DHZ5 pores and the acidic sites on the zeolite surface promoted the selective conversion of vanillin.

Pd-zeolites are promising passive NO adsorber (PNA) materials for mitigating cold-start emissions from lean-burn engines. However, their practical deployment is constrained by insufficient densities and dispersion of isolated Pd active sites as well as their susceptibility to hydrothermal degradation and phosphorus poisoning encountered in vehicle exhaust environments. Herein, we develop a rationally engineered core-shell Pd/SSZ-13@AlO composite, featuring a Pd/SSZ-13 core encapsulated within a mesoporous AlO shell.

The pervasive accumulation of tetracycline (TC) in aquatic ecosystems poses severe ecological and health threats, yet conventional technologies rarely achieve reliable removal under continuous-flow conditions. To overcome the intrinsic brittleness, aggregation and leaching of powdered ZIF-67, this study developed novel alginate-encapsulated MOF composite gel spheres (ALG/ZIF-67) via in-situ crystallization. This simple strategy generates hierarchical pores, anchors Co-N active sites and imparts mechanical robustness without sacrificing adsorption kinetics.

Fluorescent metal organic frameworks (FMOFs) constructed by encapsulating aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) into frameworks have garnered increasing attention due to their ability to overcome the aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) effect of traditional fluorescent materials such as organic dyes, quantum dots, and up-conversion nanoparticles. However, conventional AIEgens usually contain aromatic groups that may pose potential health risks. Additionally, the quality of bisphosphonates (BPs), first-line treatment drugs in skeletal-related diseases, is critical to assure their effectiveness and safety.

Zeolites are among the most widely employed catalysts in the (petro-)-chemical industry. However, due to their elaborate microporous network, they are prone to diffusion limitations and deactivation. Several modification methods have been proposed to overcome these limitations, each exhibiting their benefits.
