Fulminant type 1 diabetes is a recently recognized diabetes subtype characterized by extremely rapid destruction of the pancreatic beta cells, leading to an absolute deficiency in insulin secretion. Fulminant type 1 diabetes is clinically characterized by the drastic onset of hyperglycemia and ketoacidosis within a few days, as well as near-normal glycated hemoglobin (HbA 1c ) levels despite remarkable hyperglycemia at initial presentation. A 41-year-old woman diagnosed with fulminant type 1 diabetes underwent 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT, which showed intense FAPI uptake throughout the pancreas, especially in the pancreatic tail. Contrast-enhanced abdominal CT failed to reveal any pancreatic abnormalities. This case indicated that 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT might be useful for evaluating patients with fulminant type 1 diabetes.

Hepatitis A virus (HAV) typically causes a self-limiting illness in children. Rarely, it can progress to fulminant hepatic failure (FHF), and even less commonly, may be followed by features suggestive of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). The diagnostic overlap can be particularly challenging in tropical regions, where endemic infections such as dengue and malaria may present with similar clinical features.

Objectives: The association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and endocrine emergencies (such as fulminant type 1 diabetes mellitus and subacute thyroiditis) has received increasing attention. However, concurrent manifestations of these two conditions within a short period of time after infection are exceedingly rare, and the underlying mechanisms and clinical management strategies remain unclear.
Case Presentation: A 45-year-old Chinese man developed sudden polydipsia, polyuria, and cervical pain on day 7, within 2 weeks of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

We report a case of fulminant type 1 diabetes in a 73-year-old woman who was treated with nivolumab and ipilimumab for plantar malignant melanoma. Despite carrying the protective HLA-DRB1*15:01-DQB1*06:02 haplotype, she developed marked hyperglycemia (596 mg/dL), ketoacidosis, anti-GAD antibody positivity, HbA1c 6.6%, and low urinary C-peptide (1.

Objective: Liver transplantation is currently the most treatment for fulminant hepatitis, end-stage liver failure, hepatocellular carcinoma, and liver-originated metabolic diseases in children. With technological advances, improvements in surgical techniques and immunosuppressive therapy protocols have increased 1-year survival rates to 80%-90%. Our center successfully performs both living donor and cadaveric liver transplants in children.
