Article Abstract

Digital image correlation, deflectometry and digital holography are some of the full-field optical measurement techniques that have matured in recent years. Their use in vibroacoustic applications is gaining attention and there is a need for cataloging their performance in order to provide, to a broad community of users and potential future users, quantitative and qualitative evaluations of these three approaches. This paper presents an experimental comparison of the three optical methods in the context of vibration measurements, along with classical reference measurements provided by an accelerometer and a laser Doppler vibrometer. The study is carried out on two mechanical structures exhibiting various vibration responses when submitted to an impact.

Evaluating the olfactory preferences of emerging insect pests is critical to develop monitoring tools and improve early detection and management strategies. Here the chemical ecology and olfactory preferences of the allium leafminer Phytomyza gymnostoma Loew (Diptera: Agromyzidae), an invasive pest in North America affecting allium crops such as leeks and onions, were investigated. Three bioassay methods were assessed under laboratory conditions: wind tunnel, Y-tube olfactometer, and arena bioassay.

Objective: Our study aimed to compare premenopausal and postmenopausal women in terms of choroidal thickness and choroidal vascularity index.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 96 eyes of 96 participants, comprising 48 premenopausal and 48 postmenopausal women. Enhanced depth image optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) was used to visualize the choroid.

The regulation of follicular (F) and germinal center (GC) immune reactivity in human lymph nodes (LNs), particularly during the acute stages of viral infection, remains poorly understood: We have analyzed lung-draining lymph nodes (LD-LNs) from COVID-19 autopsies using multiplex imaging and spatial transcriptomics to examine the immune landscape with respect to follicular immune reactivity. We identified three groups of donors based on the Bcl6 prevalence of their Reactive Follicles (RFs): RF-Bcl6no/low, RF-Bcl6int, and RF-Bcl6high. A distinct B/TFH immune landscape, associated with increased prevalence of proliferating B-cell and TFH-cell subsets, was found in RF-Bcl6high LD-LNs.

Background: Chagas heart disease (ChD) is a significant public health concern in Latin America, contributing to a high incidence of sudden cardiac death (SCD). Despite advances in heart failure treatment, management of Chagas cardiomyopathy has not progressed accordingly. While ICDs are effective for primary and secondary prevention in other conditions, patients with ChD often experience more frequent episodes of ventricular tachycardia, and ICD use may provide a negative impact and increase mortality.

Background: We aimed to develop and validate a radiomics-based machine learning nomogram using multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging to preoperatively predict substantial lymphovascular space invasion in patients with endometrial cancer.

Methods: This retrospective dual-center study included patients with histologically confirmed endometrial cancer who underwent preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The patients were divided into training and test sets.
