In the current study, the synthesis of tetra-4-(2-methoxyphenoxy) carboxamide cobalt(II) amide-bridged phthalocyanine (CoTMePhCAPc) is described, as well as its characterization by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), UV-visible, and mass spectroscopy; powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD); thermogravimetric analysis (TGA); scanning electron microscopy (SEM); and electrochemistry. Sensing of nitrite (NO) and hydrogen peroxide (HO) simultaneously was done on CoTMePhCAPc with the composite multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-modified glassy carbon electrode (CoTMePhCAPc/MWCNT/GCE) in the range of linear absorption (NO and HO: CV 50-750, differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) 50-750, CA 50-500 nmol L), lower detection limit (NO and HO: CV 10.5 and 12.5, DPV 10.5 and 11.2, CA 6.0 and 5.5 nmol L), and sensitivity (NO and HO: CV 0.379 and 0.529, DPV 0.043 and 0.049, CA 0.033 and 0.040 μA nM cm). The composite electrode exhibits improved electrocatalytic behavior compared to modified electrodes for nitrite and HO. The CoTMePhCAPc/MWCNT/GCE sensor displays good selectivity even in the presence of an excess of interfering metal ions and biomolecules at the applied potentials of +400 mV (nitrite) and -400 mV (HO). Moreover, the fabricated sensor was studied with various phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (pH 5-9) electrolyte solutions. The unknown HO concentration in blood samples and apple juice and nitrite concentration in drinking water and butter leaf lettuce were all measured using the usual addition method. Docking analysis clearly indicates that the ligand shows excellent inhibition activity toward the three subjected protein molecules.

The research was conducted by optimizing the hesperidin extraction process from citrus peel powder, followed by characterization and nutrition profiling of citrus peel hesperidin extract. Citrus peel was collected from the local market and dried in a hot air oven.

Methemoglobinemia is an uncommon yet potentially life-threatening condition that results from the oxidation of iron from the ferrous (Fe²⁺) to the ferric (Fe³⁺) state, rendering hemoglobin unable to effectively transport oxygen. This translates into a state of functional hypoxia despite adequate arterial oxygen tension. Among the various causes of acquired methemoglobinemia, recreational inhalation of alkyl nitrites, widely known as "poppers," is a notable but underrecognized trigger.

Nitrogen cycle is a fundamental biogeochemical loop existed for millions of years, which involves the transformation of nitrogen-containing chemicals in the environment. However, human activities, especially those since the Industrial Revolution, have significantly disrupted this balance, leading to environmental and energy challenges. Electrocatalysis nitrogen cycle (ENC) offers a promising alternative for the sustainable transformation of nitrogen compounds en route toward rebalancing, with reactions such as the electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) and nitrate/nitrite reduction reaction (eNORR/eNORR) emerging as sustainable alternatives to the traditional Haber-Bosch process.

Karst water bodies are vital groundwater resources particularly vulnerable to pollution. Protecting their water quality requires documenting contaminants traditionally associated with anthropogenic activities (metals, nutrients, and fecal indicator bacteria) as well as emerging contaminants, such as antibiotic-resistant organisms (AROs) and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This study detected contaminants in karst-associated water bodies on the Yucatán Peninsula, including 10 sinkholes (cenotes) and one submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) site.
