Background: Skin tone can affect clinical signs and device accuracy in paediatric anaemia and deterioration detection, creating risks of inequity.
Key Issues: Studies show disparities in diagnostic accuracy across different skin tones, supported by community-based evidence.
Recommendations: (1) Build multicenter networks with standardised skin-tone data.

This commentary examines the learnings from different countries included in the Special Series: . Studies focused on the initial phase of the GFF and highlighted key themes, including power asymmetries, stakeholder engagement, the alignment of funding to health needs, and the treatment of community health and quality of care within GFF-supported programs. Liver abscesses are a concern in feedlot cattle, and little is known about the role of genetics in their development. This study aimed to estimate genetic parameters and to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) associated with liver abscesses. Crossbred cattle representing 18 breeds in the United States Meat Animal Research Center Germplasm Evaluation Program were phenotyped for liver abscesses at slaughter (n = 9,044).

Global efforts to standardise methodologies benefit greatly from open-source procedures that enable the generation of comparable data. Here, we present a modular, high-throughput nucleic acid extraction protocol standardised within the Earth Hologenome Initiative to generate both genomic and microbial metagenomic data from faecal samples of vertebrates. The procedure enables the purification of either RNA and DNA in separate fractions (DREX1) or as total nucleic acids (DREX2).

Introduction: Trauma clinical guidance (guidelines, protocols, algorithms, etc) has been shown to improve patient outcomes; however, it is only used in about half of the patients to whom it applies. Guidance implementation is affected by intrinsic factors (eg, guidance format) as well as extrinsic factors (eg, the clinical environment). Recommendations and frameworks have been created to aid in the development of implementable guidance.
