Bone age assessment is a critical tool for evaluating skeletal maturity in children and adolescents, with implications for growth monitoring and clinical decision-making. While traditional radiographic methods such as the Greulich-Pyle and Tanner-Whitehouse systems remain the gold standard, concerns over ionizing radiation exposure have spurred interest in ultrasound-based alternatives. This mini-review synthesizes current evidence on ultrasound bone age assessment, highlighting its advantages as a radiation-free, non-invasive modality with strong correlations to radiographic standards.

Background: The escalating complexity of clinical trial protocols has considerably increased the workload for research coordinators, exacerbating staffing shortages and contributing to operational inefficiencies. These challenges are particularly pronounced at under-resourced and minority-serving research institutions, where limited capacity may hinder the implementation of trials. Early and accurate estimation of research coordinator effort is essential for effective planning, resource management, and successful clinical trial conduct.

Background And Objectives: The presence of oligoclonal bands (OCBs) indicates an augmented immune response within the CNS and is integral to the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS). Expert consensus panels recommend OCB testing for conditions other than MS, despite limited data to suggest diagnostic value. Our objectives were to evaluate the spectrum of disease etiologies associated with OCBs and determine the accuracy of OCBs in identifying autoimmune disorders affecting the CNS.

Objectives: Establishing paediatric DRLs is challenging due to sparse data availability. The objective was to assess paediatric fluoroscopic dose levels in Dutch clinical practice, as current diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) need updating following the European Guidelines on DRLs for Paediatric Imaging (PiDRL).
Material And Methods: Air Kerma-area Product (KAP) values were retrospectively collected from paediatric patients (0-18 years) who underwent fluoroscopic procedures in nine Dutch hospitals between 01-01-2017 and 01-06-2021.

Water contamination by micropollutants is a global issue, yet there is limited information from low-income regions. To address this, we evaluated surface water quality in rapidly growing Sub-Saharan area of Malawi lacking wastewater treatment. Integrated assessment of passive sample extracts representing wet and dry seasons combined effect-based approach with in vitro bioassays, target and non-target chemical analyses (NTS).
