Article Abstract

The new homodinuclear complexes of the general formula [Ln(NO)] (where is newly synthesized 2-((2-(benzoxazol-2-yl)-2-methylhydrazono)methyl)phenol and Ln = Sm (), Eu (), Tb (, ), Dy (), Ho (), Er (), Tm (), Yb ()), have been synthesized from the lanthanide(III) nitrates with the polydentate hydrazone Schiff base ligand. The flexibility of this unsymmetrical Schiff base ligand containing NO binding moiety, attractive for lanthanide metal ions, allowed for a self-assembly of these complexes. The compounds were characterized by spectroscopic data (ESI-MS, IR, UV/Vis, luminescence) and by the X-ray structure determination of the single crystals, all of which appeared to be different solvents. The analytical data suggested 2:3 metal:ligand stoichiometry in these complexes, and this was further confirmed by the structural results. The metal cations are nine-coordinated, by nitrogen and oxygen donor atoms. The complexes are two-centered, with three oxygen atoms in bridging positions. There are two types of structures, differing by the sources of terminal (non-bridging) coordination centers (group A: two ligands, one nitro anion/one ligand, two nitro anions, group B: three ligands, three anions).

Tumor surgery often leads to tumor residue, tissue defects, and drug-resistant bacterial infections, resulting in high recurrence rates and chronic wounds. In this study, an injectable hydrogel was synthesized using glycidyl trimethyl ammonium chloride-chitosan (GCh) and formylbenzoic acid-modified chrysomycin A (CA)-loaded F127 micelles (F127FA-CA). The formation of the hydrogel is achieved through Schiff base conjugation, which occurs between the amino groups present in GCh and the aldehyde groups located on the micelle surfaces.

Introduction: Traditional hydrogels with poor mechanical properties and lack of biological activities severely limit their application in wound therapy. Designing multifunctional hydrogels for monitoring and accelerating wound healing remains imperative.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to develop a multifunctional antifreeze ionic conductive Gel-TBA@organohydrogel with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties for monitoring and wound treatment.

Ultra-sensitive pH-responsive drug delivery system designed to operate within the slightly acidic microenvironment of tumors are highly desired for hydrogel applications in cancer therapy. In this study, 4-Formylbenzoic acid modified polyvinyl alcohol (PVA-FBA, PF) was synthesized and utilized as a carrier for encapsulating the anticancer drug Doxorubicin (Dox). This was subsequently crosslinked with polyethylenimine (PEI) via benzoic-imine bond to form drug-loaded PVA-FBA/PEI hydrogel (D-PFP).

Herein, we present a simple and novel method to prepare soybean protein isolate (SPI)-based hydrogels with good mechanical characteristics. First, SPI/DSA hydrogels were prepared using SPI and different M/G ratios (1:2, 1:1, and 2:1) of dialdehyde sodium alginate (DSA). Then, the hydrogels were immersed in CaCl2 solution to form SPI/DSA@Ca double network hydrogels.
