A criminal act can be regarded as an irrational decision-making process. Therefore, understanding differences in the criminal decision-making process would shed light on criminal behavior. We utilized dual processing theory to propose that offenders' differences in decision-making may cause them to adopt non-adaptive behaviors, such as high reference point setting, abnormal reward-punishment sensitivity, delayed discounting rate, and decision-making style. Our study compares differences in these indicators between offenders ( = 518) and non-offenders ( = 636) in a diverse sample of Chinese adults. The results showed that compared with non-offenders, offenders had higher relative deprivation, reward sensitivity, and delayed discounting rates but lower punishment sensitivity and vigilance in decision-making. A logistic regression analysis also shows that the above factors were significant predictive indicators for the commission of crimes.

Preliminary evidence suggests that Tai Chi may effectively relieve pain symptoms, increase quality of life, and reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS). However, few randomized controlled trials have specifically investigated the potential benefits of Tai Chi in patients with CCS, particularly regarding its effects on psychological stress and cellular stress levels. To evaluate the effectiveness of a hybrid Tai Chi cardiac rehabilitation programme in reducing perceived stress and oxidative stress in diagnosed patients.

However, its impact on the diagnostic process for asylum seekers remains underexplored.

Blowflies are important to estimate the postmortem interval (PMI), since they are the first to interact with the carcass. However, depending on the decomposition stage, only pupae can be found. A method that has currently been suggested is the use of cuticular hydrocarbons (CHCs) in forensically important fly species to aid in estimating PMI; however, studies from the pupal stage are rare.
